This 3.85V, 3300mAh lithium-polymer cell replaces part number TLP034F1 in the MetroPCS Revvl 4 and 5007Z smartphones. It fits the same physical footprint as the original at 80.20 × 60.60 × 4.10mm. Swap it in when the stock cell no longer holds charge or causes unexpected shutdowns.

  • Revvl 4 and 5007Z compatibility: Both the Revvl 4 and 5007Z use the same 3.85V cell architecture and TLP034F1 connector pinout. The BMS handshake on each model expects the same charge termination voltage, so one cell covers both variants without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and full-load discharge on a Revvl 4 unit. The BMS accepted charge termination at 4.35V and held voltage above the modem-load cutoff threshold without triggering a protective disconnect.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard current. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve before fast-charge current is applied to an uncalibrated cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Revvl 4 after a cell swap

The Revvl 4's fuel gauge IC stores a discharge curve calibrated to the original cell. A new cell has different internal resistance and a steeper voltage cliff near depletion. When the modem or screen pulls a high current burst, the new cell's voltage drops faster than the IC expects, and the phone interprets it as a critical low-battery condition even though the percentage display reads higher. Running one full discharge-to-shutdown cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% forces the IC to relearn the curve and eliminates most premature cutoffs.

USB fast charging not working on the first cycle after replacement

The Revvl 4's charge controller handshakes with the battery BMS before enabling elevated charge current. On a fresh cell, the BMS may not respond to the fast-charge negotiation on the first cycle because its internal registers are in a default state. The phone will fall back to standard 5V charging rather than throw an error. Plug into the original charger, let the first cycle complete fully at standard current, and fast charging typically resumes on the second connection without any additional steps.

My Revvl 4 shuts off at around 25% with the new battery — is the cell faulty?

The cell is almost certainly fine. The fuel gauge IC in the Revvl 4 is still using the discharge curve it mapped for the original worn cell, so it miscalculates the voltage cliff on the new one. Under a heavy load burst — screen on, LTE active — the cell voltage drops faster than the IC predicts and the phone interprets it as an emergency cutoff. Run one full discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% without interruption, and the IC recalibrates its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual curve.

The battery percentage jumps erratically — drops 10% in two minutes, then sits at the same number for an hour. What's happening?

This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating after a cell swap. The coulomb counter accumulated error data against the old degraded cell and is now seeing a completely different discharge profile. It hasn't completed enough cycles to build a stable internal model for the new cell's impedance. Let the phone discharge fully to auto-shutdown and charge back to 100% twice in a row — by the second full cycle the IC typically stabilises the percentage readout to within a few percent of actual remaining capacity.

The Revvl 4 won't turn on at all after the new battery sat in the package for a few months before I installed it.

Li-polymer cells self-discharge in storage, and if the TLP034F1 dropped below roughly 2.5V per cell while sitting uninstalled, the BMS will have locked the cell into a protective low-voltage state and will block normal charge input. Connect the phone to the original wall adapter — not a PC USB port — and leave it for at least 30 minutes without attempting to power it on. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell below the BMS lockout threshold; once the cell climbs above 2.8V the BMS re-initialises and normal charging resumes.
