Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Alcatel 3 2019 / 3L 2019 — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (TLP034F1)
This is a 3.85V, 3300mAh Li-Polymer cell that replaces the original TLP034F1 / TLP034F7 battery in the Alcatel 3 2019 and 3L 2019. It fits models 5053Y and 5053K. Use it when the original cell no longer holds a charge, swells, or causes unexpected shutdowns.
- Alcatel 3 2019 and 3L 2019 compatibility: Both the 5053Y and 5053K share the same battery bay dimensions and connector pinout, so one cell covers the full model range. The BMS communication protocol and charge IC handshake are identical across these variants.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran charge and discharge cycles on this cell and confirmed the BMS holds the correct 4.40V charge ceiling, responds accurately to the Alcatel charge IC, and triggers undervoltage protection at the expected low-voltage threshold without false cutoff.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before the charge IC pushes high current into an uncalibrated cell — otherwise percentage readings will drift from the first charge onward.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% after a cell swap on the Alcatel 3 2019
The Alcatel 3 2019 runs a coulomb-counter fuel gauge that was trained to the discharge curve of the original cell. When a new cell goes in, the stored curve no longer matches the actual voltage profile. Under screen-on or modem load, voltage sags faster than the IC expects, and the phone interprets a safe voltage as critically low and cuts power. This is not a fault in the replacement cell. One full discharge to automatic shutdown followed by a full charge to 100% re-anchors the coulomb counter to the new cell's curve and eliminates the early cutoff.
Phone warm near the battery bay during the first few charges after replacement
A new Li-Polymer cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a cell that has completed its first few formation cycles. During the initial charges, the charge IC converts more energy to heat as it pushes current through that higher impedance. This is normal and tapers off after three to five full cycles as the cell's internal impedance drops. If the device stays warm beyond five full cycles or becomes hot to the touch, check that the replacement cell dimensions — 80.20 x 60.60 x 4.10mm — match the installed part, as a mismatched cell can cause sustained elevated impedance and heat.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Alcatel 3 2019 shows 25% battery and then shuts off without warning — is the new cell faulty?
This is a fuel gauge IC calibration issue, not a cell fault. The coulomb counter in the Alcatel 3 2019 was calibrated to the original cell's discharge curve, and the replacement cell has a slightly different voltage profile under load. The IC sees a voltage it interprets as critical and shuts the phone down before the cell is actually depleted. Run one full discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the calibration baseline and the early shutdowns stop.
Fast charging stopped working after I installed the replacement battery — the phone only trickle charges now.
The Alcatel charge IC performs a handshake with the BMS on the first cycle after a cell is installed, and on some units it defaults to a low-current safe charge mode until that handshake completes successfully. Power the phone off completely, leave it on charge for 20–30 minutes, then power it back on. If fast charge still does not activate, discharge the phone fully to automatic shutdown and charge from flat — the IC re-runs the handshake at the start of a full charge cycle and typically re-enables the higher current rate from that point.
The battery percentage on my Alcatel 3L 2019 keeps jumping — it reads 60%, then skips to 45%, then back up to 55% within minutes.
Erratic percentage jumps after a cell replacement are caused by the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against an unfamiliar cell. The coulomb counter is comparing live voltage readings to a stored discharge model that no longer fits the new cell, so small load changes produce large, incorrect state-of-charge corrections. This settles after two to three full discharge-charge cycles as the IC builds a new reference curve. To accelerate recalibration, charge the phone to 100% with fast charging disabled, use the phone normally until it shuts off automatically, then charge back to 100% without interruption — repeat this twice and the percentage jumps will resolve.
