Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

O2 XDA Flame — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (XP-08)

This is a 3.7V, 2000mAh Li-ion cell that replaces the original battery in the O2 XDA Flame smartphone. It fits the XDA Flame directly and restores power to the device when the original cell can no longer hold a usable charge. Capacity is rated at 7.4Wh and matches the OEM specification for this handset.

  • XDA Flame fit: The XDA Flame uses a dedicated battery bay sized for this cell format — 71.61 × 59.89 × 4.38mm — with a fixed connector layout. Any replacement must match that footprint exactly or the back cover will not seat flush and the connector will misalign.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the XDA Flame platform. The BMS accepted charge current without cutoff and held voltage above the device's shutdown threshold across a full discharge cycle.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: On first use after installation, run one full discharge-charge cycle with fast charging disabled. This lets the fuel gauge IC on the XDA Flame map its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve before normal charging resumes.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the XDA Flame after a cell swap

The XDA Flame's fuel gauge IC was calibrated against the original cell's discharge curve. A new cell with a slightly different internal resistance profile will cause the gauge to misread remaining capacity. When the modem or screen draws a high current burst, the cell voltage drops below the hardware shutdown threshold — even though the gauge still shows 20–30%. This is a calibration gap, not a faulty cell. One full discharge to automatic shutdown, followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%, resets the coulomb counter and narrows the gap.

XDA Flame not powering on after the battery sat discharged in storage

If a Li-ion cell drops below approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS trips a deep-discharge lockout to prevent damage. The XDA Flame will show nothing on screen — no charge indicator, no boot logo. Connect the device to a wall charger rated for at least 1A output and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing any buttons. The BMS needs a low-current trickle to recover cell voltage above the lockout threshold before it will allow normal charge current to flow. Once the screen shows a charge icon, the BMS has re-initialised and the device will boot normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

My XDA Flame shuts off randomly at around 25% battery after fitting the new cell — is something wrong with it?

Nothing is wrong with the cell. The fuel gauge IC on the XDA Flame is still running the discharge curve it learned from the old battery. When the screen or modem pulls a current spike, the new cell's voltage drops faster than the gauge expects, and the phone cuts out before the gauge reaches zero. Run one full discharge to automatic shutdown and charge back to 100% without interruption. That single cycle gives the coulomb counter enough data to recalibrate against the new cell.

The battery percentage on my XDA Flame is jumping around after the replacement — it went from 60% to 80% without charging anything.

The fuel gauge IC is actively recalibrating against the new cell's discharge profile and hasn't locked onto it yet. It uses a coulomb counter that was tuned to the original cell's internal resistance, so readings will be erratic for the first cycle or two. Don't read anything into the numbers until the phone has completed at least two full discharge-charge cycles from 100% down to auto-shutdown and back. After the second cycle, the gauge readings should stabilise within a few percent of actual remaining capacity.

My XDA Flame feels warm near the battery area while it's charging — is the new cell overheating?

A new Li-ion cell typically has slightly higher internal impedance than a worn cell, which means the charge IC works harder to push current through it on the first few cycles. Some warmth at the back of the phone is normal during this break-in period. If the device becomes uncomfortable to hold or the charger disconnects automatically, switch to a lower-output charger — 500mA USB is sufficient — for the first full charge cycle. By the second or third cycle, impedance drops and the warmth reduces noticeably.
