Fits Olympus mrobe MR-100 media player, replaces OEM part number ZT005032.
This 3.7V 750mAh cell powers the touchscreen and storage access on the MR-100 without voltage sag during playback.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with a single locking tab; orientation is marked on the device housing.
We charged this cell in an Olympus cradle and confirmed the BMS accepted the new pack on first insertion without fault codes.
After installation, let the charger run for 30 minutes before powering on—the MR-100 enters protection mode after storage and needs a slow trickle to wake.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Olympus mrobe MR-100 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (ZT005032)

This is a 3.7V, 750mAh Li-ion battery for the Olympus mrobe MR-100 portable media player. It replaces OEM part number ZT005032. The mrobe MR-100 is a touchscreen audio and video player from the mid-2000s, and this cell fits the original battery bay with no modification.

  • mrobe MR-100 fit: The MR-100 uses a compact single-cell Li-ion pack at 3.7V nominal. The ZT005032 form factor — 34.00 × 38.30 × 5.30mm — matches the original bay dimensions. The BMS communicates charge state directly to the device firmware, so the battery indicator reads correctly after calibration.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran full charge and discharge cycles on the MR-100 platform. The BMS triggered protection cutoff at the expected low-voltage threshold without locking the device into an unrecoverable state. Charge acceptance from the stock USB cradle was normal throughout.
  • First-charge after a cell swap: After installing this battery, charge it fully before first use. Media players like the MR-100 frequently enter deep discharge protection after extended storage. The device may not respond to the power button until a slow trickle charge brings the cell voltage above the BMS wake threshold — typically around 3.0V.

Battery percentage jumping after cell swap on the MR-100

The MR-100 estimates charge level by reading cell voltage against a fixed lookup table stored in firmware. After swapping to a new cell, the firmware's stored reference points no longer match actual cell behaviour. This causes the indicator to jump — showing 80%, then 40%, then back up — during the first few cycles. Run two or three full charge-to-discharge cycles and the voltage curve stabilises. After that, the percentage display tracks accurately.

Playback cutting out before the battery indicator shows empty

The MR-100's audio amplifier draws a brief current spike when it drives the output stage, especially at higher volume levels. At the tail end of a discharge cycle, cell voltage sags under that load and briefly dips below the BMS cutoff threshold — even though the indicator still shows charge remaining. The device cuts out not because the battery is dead, but because instantaneous voltage dropped too low. Plugging into the charger and restarting will confirm remaining capacity; if the device powers on immediately, the cell had charge left but couldn't sustain the load spike.

Frequently Asked Questions

My mrobe MR-100 won't turn on after sitting unused for months — is the new battery dead already?

Almost certainly not. After extended storage, the cell voltage drops below the BMS wake threshold and the device enters deep discharge protection. Connect the MR-100 to its charger and leave it for at least 30 minutes before pressing the power button. The trickle charge stage needs time to bring the cell above roughly 3.0V before the BMS allows normal operation.

The battery percentage on my MR-100 jumps around after I installed this replacement — was it fitted incorrectly?

The fit is fine. The MR-100 firmware reads charge level from a voltage lookup table calibrated to the original cell's discharge curve. A new cell has a slightly different curve, so the first few readings appear erratic. Run two full charge-and-discharge cycles through the stock cradle and the firmware recalibrates against the new cell's actual voltage behaviour.

Audio on my MR-100 cuts out abruptly but the battery indicator still shows charge — what's happening?

The audio output stage draws a short current spike that causes voltage sag at the end of a discharge cycle. That momentary dip trips the BMS cutoff even though the indicator hasn't reached zero. Plug the device into the charger immediately after a cutout — if it powers back on within seconds, the cell still had usable capacity but couldn't sustain the instantaneous load. Keeping volume below maximum reduces the peak draw and delays the cutout point.
