Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Olympus Stylus 1000 / u600 / Stylus 800 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (Li-10B / LI-12B)
This is a 3.7V, 1090mAh Li-ion cell replacing the Olympus Li-10B and LI-12B batteries. It fits the Stylus 1000, Stylus 600 Digital, u600 Digital, Stylus 800 Digital, and over 37 additional Olympus compact camera models. Slot it into the same battery compartment as the original — same footprint at 46.00 × 31.85 × 9.85mm.
- Cross-model Li-10B / LI-12B platform: Olympus used the same voltage rail and connector pinout across the Stylus and μ (u) compact series from this era. The Li-10B and LI-12B share identical dimensions and a 3.7V nominal rail, which is why one cell fits such a wide model range without any adapter.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on compatible Olympus hardware. The BMS accepted the cell cleanly — no rejection flag, no premature cutoff on the low-voltage protection threshold.
- First-cycle BMS initialisation on Olympus compacts: Run one complete charge via the OEM charger or camera body before heavy shooting. Olympus compact BMS systems map battery-remaining percentage to a known discharge curve — a full initial cycle lets the camera calibrate the indicator accurately against this cell.
Flash recycling lag on the Stylus 1000 with a new replacement cell
The Stylus 1000's flash capacitor draws a sharp recharge current after each exposure. On a fresh cell that hasn't completed a conditioning cycle, the internal resistance is marginally higher than a fully bedded-in cell. This causes a slightly longer gap between the flash-ready indicator appearing and the next shot being available. After two or three full charge-discharge cycles, internal resistance drops and recycling speed normalises. If the lag persists beyond three cycles, check that the battery contacts in the compartment are clean and making solid contact.
Battery percentage jumping erratically on the Stylus display
Olympus compact cameras map the battery icon to fixed voltage thresholds — not to a learned fuel-gauge algorithm. A new cell has a slightly different discharge curve compared to an aged original, so the indicator can leap from full to one bar or skip levels unexpectedly. This is a display calibration issue, not a fault with the cell itself. Complete two full charge cycles inside the camera body and the indicator will track more steadily as the BMS aligns its threshold mapping to the new cell's actual resting voltages — expect around 4.1V at full and 3.5V at cutoff.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Stylus 1000 shows a dead battery icon immediately after I install the new Li-10B — is the cell dead on arrival?
Almost certainly not. Olympus compact cameras perform a voltage check on first power-up, and a cell shipped in storage state can read low enough to trigger the dead-battery icon before the BMS accepts it. Place the battery in the OEM charger or charge it in-camera for a full cycle first, then reinsert. If the icon clears and the camera powers on normally, the cell is fine — target a full charge to 4.1V before use.
My shot count is noticeably lower than what the original Li-10B used to give — what's drawing it down faster?
Flash, continuous autofocus, and optical zoom motor all pull current on top of the sensor and processor load. The Stylus 1000 is particularly flash-dependent in indoor shooting, and each flash cycle pulls a capacitor-recharge burst that doesn't show in a straight capacity-to-shot-count calculation. Cold ambient temperatures above 0°C also suppress usable capacity by 10–20%. Shoot with flash only when needed, keep the camera warm between shots, and verify the replacement cell has completed at least one full conditioning cycle before judging shot count.
The camera body gets noticeably warm during video recording and the battery drains much faster than during stills — is something wrong?
Nothing is wrong — this is expected behaviour. Video mode keeps the sensor, image processor, and LCD running continuously, which stacks draw in a way that stills shooting (with idle gaps between frames) does not. The Stylus 1000 is a compact with limited thermal mass, so heat builds up quickly under sustained video load. Keep clips to shorter segments to let the body cool between recordings, and avoid charging immediately after an extended video session — let the cell cool to room temperature first before connecting the charger.
