Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Praktica Luxmedia 6105 / 6403 / 6503 / 7105 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This 3.7V 850mAh (3.15Wh) lithium-ion cell replaces the factory battery in Praktica Luxmedia compact digital cameras. It fits the 6105, 6403, 6503, and 7105 models, along with 34 additional Luxmedia variants. Dimensions are 40.20 × 35.30 × 6.10mm — match these against your original cell before installing.
- Luxmedia platform fit: These Luxmedia models share the same battery bay geometry, connector orientation, and 3.7V supply rail. One cell format covers the full range without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on compatible Luxmedia bodies. The BMS held cutoff cleanly at the low-voltage threshold and accepted recharge without manual reset.
- First-install charge cycle: Insert the new cell and run one full charge through the camera body or OEM charger before shooting. Some Luxmedia BMS firmware maps the battery-remaining display to the cell's discharge curve only after completing that first in-camera charge cycle — skipping it causes inaccurate level readings.
Flash recycling slowing down before the cell reads empty
The Luxmedia flash capacitor draws a concentrated recharge current between shots. At 850mAh, this cell operates within that spec, but as charge drops toward 3.5V the current available for capacitor recharge decreases noticeably. The camera body may still show one or two bars of battery remaining while flash recycle time stretches out. This is the cell approaching its practical discharge floor, not a fault — swap or charge when recycle lag becomes consistent.
Battery percentage jumping erratically on the Luxmedia display
The Luxmedia indicator maps battery percentage to a fixed voltage-threshold table calibrated for the original cell's discharge curve. A new replacement cell — even at correct capacity — can discharge along a slightly different voltage slope, causing the indicator to skip levels or jump backward. This is a display calibration mismatch, not a cell fault. Run two full charge-discharge cycles through the camera body and the indicator will stabilise as the BMS learns the new cell's curve.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Luxmedia shows a dead battery icon immediately after I fit the new cell — is the replacement faulty?
Almost always it's the camera BMS rejecting an uncharged cell, not a faulty battery. Insert the cell and charge it fully through the camera body or OEM charger before powering on for the first time. One complete in-camera charge cycle is what the Luxmedia firmware needs to accept the cell and clear the low-battery flag. If the icon persists after a full charge, check the contact pins in the battery bay for debris or corrosion.
The shot count on my Luxmedia dropped noticeably compared to the original battery — why?
Flash, continuous autofocus, and the LCD backscreen each add draw beyond the baseline sensor and processor load. Cold ambient temperatures also compress usable capacity — Li-ion cells at 850mAh lose a portion of effective capacity below 10°C. If you're shooting with flash enabled and the display at full brightness, expect fewer frames than the rated spec suggests. Reduce LCD brightness and switch flash to auto-only to recover shot count without swapping cells.
The camera body feels warm during video recording and cuts out before the battery indicator hits zero — what's happening?
Sustained video recording stacks sensor readout, image processor, and stabilisation draw simultaneously — the combined current pull is higher than any single still-capture draw. When the cell voltage sags under that sustained load, the BMS triggers an early cutoff to protect the cell, even if the display hasn't reached zero yet. This is normal protective behaviour, not a cell defect. Switch to shorter video clips with brief pauses between them to let the cell voltage recover and avoid premature cutoff.
