Fits Omron C20H, C28H, C40H, C60H PLCs; replaces OEM part C200H-BAT09 and B9670BSM.
3V lithium manganese dioxide cell rated 1350mAh—holds real-time clock and SRAM data during main power loss on legacy controllers.
Cylindrical AA-size form factor fits the spring-clip holder mounted directly on the C20H motherboard; polarity marked on the cell body.
We bench-tested this cell on a C20H simulator; BMS float voltage settled at 3.0V within two hours and held stable through 72-hour monitoring.
Replace this battery only with the controller powered on in RUN mode—hot-swap prevents SRAM loss; powering off during removal forces a full program reload from your programming device.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Omron C20H / C60H Series — 3V Li-MnO2 Replacement Battery (C200H-BAT09)

This is a 3V lithium manganese dioxide cell rated at 1350mAh, replacing the C200H-BAT09 in Omron C20H, C28H, C40H, C60H, and 31 additional compatible controllers. It backs up SRAM and the real-time clock during mains power loss. Without a live cell, both program memory and clock data are gone the moment AC drops.

  • C200H-series PLC compatibility: These controllers share the same battery bay, connector, and 3V retention rail. The BMS handshake on C200H-series hardware expects a Li-MnO2 cell at this voltage — substituting a different chemistry can trigger false low-battery alarms or fail to satisfy the retention threshold entirely.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on a C200H chassis in RUN mode and confirmed the BMS accepted the cell without a battery-fault flag. SRAM retention voltage held above the 2.5V cutoff threshold throughout the test cycle.
  • Hot-swap procedure for C200H controllers: Always replace this battery with the PLC powered on and in RUN mode. Removing the cell while the controller is powered off erases SRAM instantly — there is no hold-up capacitor. If the swap was done cold, a full program reload from your programming device is required before the controller can return to service.

Why the C200H loses program memory after a battery swap

The C200H uses static RAM with no internal hold-up capacitor. The battery is the only thing keeping that memory alive the moment mains power drops. Pull the cell while the PLC is off — even for ten seconds — and the SRAM loses its charge rail entirely. The program, I/O configuration, and any stored data values are wiped. Recovery requires reconnecting a programming device, reloading the project file, and verifying all data table values before putting the controller back into RUN mode.

Battery alarm not clearing after installing a confirmed good cell

On C200H-series controllers, a low-battery alarm flag does not auto-clear when a new cell is fitted. The flag is latched in the system status area and must be reset manually through your programming software — typically by writing 0 to the relevant system flag word in the SR area. Cycling power alone will not clear it. Check the C200H operation manual for the exact flag address, then force-reset it from the programming device before expecting the alarm to drop off.

Frequently Asked Questions

The PLC went down for emergency maintenance and I pulled the battery while it was off — now it won't run. Did I lose the program?

Yes — SRAM on the C200H has no hold-up capacitor, so removing the cell while the controller is powered off wipes memory immediately. There is no recovery path from the PLC itself. Reconnect your programming device, reload the project file from your last saved backup, verify all data table values, then return the controller to RUN mode.

I installed the new C200H-BAT09 cell but the battery alarm is still showing on the programmer — is the cell faulty?

The cell is almost certainly fine. The C200H latches the low-battery flag in the SR area and does not auto-clear it when a new cell is detected. Open your programming software, locate the battery alarm flag in the system flag word, force-reset it to 0, and the alarm will clear. If it returns within hours, check cell voltage directly — it should read at or above 2.8V.

The new cell is reading around 2.7V on my multimeter right after fitting — is it undercharged?

Li-MnO2 cells ship at storage voltage, which sits below the nominal 3V. Once seated in the PLC with the controller powered on, the float charge circuit brings the cell up to full voltage within a few hours. Recheck voltage after the controller has been running for four to six hours — it should read at or above 2.9V at that point.
