Fits OpenStage SL4, SL5, SL6 cordless handsets as OEM replacement cell.
3.7V lithium-ion at 950mAh delivers rated capacity for talk and standby without voltage sag under RF load.
Connector slides onto handset contacts with positive terminal forward; locking tab seats flush against housing rear.
Bench testing showed clean BMS negotiation with OpenStage base station on first insertion; no fault codes logged.
After installation, seat the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge — lithium cells in this platform need slow initial conditioning to establish stable voltage handshake with the charging circuit.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

OpenStage SL4 / SL5 / SL6 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 3.7V, 950mAh Li-ion battery fits the OpenStage SL4, SL5, and SL6 DECT cordless handsets. It replaces the original cell when talk and standby time drop noticeably after repeated charge cycles. Physical dimensions are 52.95 × 35.10 × 4.50mm — measure your existing cell before fitting if unsure.

  • SL4 / SL5 / SL6 platform fit: These three handsets share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell covers all three models without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on SL-series hardware. The BMS accepted the cell cleanly, registered full charge state, and held resting voltage above 3.6V between sessions.
  • First-charge protocol for Li-ion DECT handsets: After fitting, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full uninterrupted charge before first use. SL-series bases use a trickle-top phase that Li-ion cells need to complete before the BMS reports accurate capacity to the handset firmware.

Talk time shorter than expected after fitting a new cell

A new Li-ion cell ships at partial state of charge — typically 40–60%. The handset firmware reads this low starting point and recalibrates its capacity estimate downward. Run two or three full charge-to-discharge cycles and the firmware re-learns the actual 950mAh ceiling. After that, talk time should match or exceed the original battery's output at the same charge level.

Base station charge light not activating after battery swap

SL-series bases check for a minimum voltage on the battery contacts before starting the charge circuit — if the cell voltage sits too low from storage, the base reads it as a fault and withholds current. Hold the handset firmly in the base for 60 seconds: some base firmware versions require a sustained contact signal before the charge IC enables. If the light still does not activate, check that the handset battery contacts are clean and the cell is correctly seated — the charge pin is the middle contact on the SL battery strip.

Frequently Asked Questions

My OpenStage SL4 handset won't re-pair with the base after I swapped the battery — is the battery the cause?

Yes, removing power from a DECT handset clears the pairing register on some SL-series firmware builds. The battery swap itself is not the fault — the loss of power during the swap is. Re-register the handset using the base's paging button: hold it for 3 seconds until the base LED flashes, then follow the handset menu to re-register under Settings > Registration.

The SL4 handset is showing a full charge but drains completely overnight even when sitting in the base — what's happening?

This is a standby draw issue, not a battery fault. If the handset is not fully seated in the base cradle, the charging contacts don't engage and the handset runs on battery power in idle mode all night. Check that the handset clicks firmly into the base and that the charge indicator activates within 10 seconds of seating — if it does not, clean the gold contacts on both the handset and base with a dry cloth.

After fitting this battery, the signal bars on my SL5 dropped and range from the base got worse — what causes that?

RF transmit power in DECT handsets pulls current in short bursts. When a Li-ion cell is low or the contacts have resistance, voltage sags under that load and the handset steps down transmit power to protect the circuit — signal bars drop as a result. Charge the new cell to 100% first, then retest range. If the issue persists, check the battery contacts for oxidation and clean them with a pencil eraser to restore a low-resistance connection.
