Fits Unify OpenStage SL4 and OpenStage SL4 professional cordless handsets; replaces OEM battery 52-S2352-R141.
3.7V lithium-ion cell with 950mAh capacity sustains talk and standby cycles on DECT handsets.
Connects via two-pin connector with positive and negative contacts facing downward into handset slot.
Bench testing showed stable voltage delivery under transmit load; BMS engaged protection at 2.5V floor.
After install, seat the handset in base for 16 hours on first charge—Li-ion packs require full voltage equalization before normal use on Unify platforms.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Unify OpenStage SL4 / OpenScape SL5 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 3.7V, 950mAh lithium-ion battery replaces the original cell in the Unify OpenStage SL4, OpenStage SL4 professional, OpenScape SL5 professional, and related cordless DECT handsets. It restores power to handsets that no longer hold a charge or fail to complete a full day of use. Dimensions are 52.95 × 35.10 × 4.50mm — confirm against your existing cell before installing.

  • OpenStage SL4 and SL5 platform fit: These handsets share the same battery bay dimensions and 3.7V supply rail across the SL4, SL4 professional, and SL5 professional variants. One cell covers the full range listed in the compatibility data.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the SL4 platform. The protection circuit responded correctly to low-voltage cutoff and did not trip during normal DECT transmit bursts.
  • First-charge protocol for DECT handsets: After fitting, seat the handset in its base station and leave it undisturbed for a full 16 hours before first use. Li-ion cells shipped in storage state need a complete slow charge to reach rated capacity — pulling the handset off the base early leaves usable charge on the table.

Talk time shorter than expected after fitting a new cell

A freshly installed Li-ion cell often delivers noticeably less talk time for the first two or three charge cycles. This happens because the cell ships in a partially discharged storage state, and the handset's charge management circuit calibrates to actual capacity over repeated full cycles. Run three complete charge-and-use cycles before judging performance. By cycle three, the cell should be delivering close to its rated 950mAh.

Handset fails to re-pair with base station after battery replacement

Removing the battery completely cuts power to the handset's volatile memory, and some DECT implementations lose their pairing registration when that happens. The base station treats the handset as an unknown device on next power-up. To fix this, initiate a fresh DECT registration from the base station menu — on most Unify bases, this is found under Settings → Registration → Register Handset. Once re-paired, the handset functions normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

My OpenStage SL4 is draining flat overnight even when it's sitting in the base — is the new battery faulty?

This is almost always a seating issue, not a cell fault. The SL4 handset must make firm contact with the base station charging pins — even a slight tilt breaks the circuit and the handset runs on battery in standby. Remove the handset, clean the charging contacts on both the handset and base with a dry cloth, then reseat it firmly and check that the charging indicator activates. If the indicator lights and the handset holds charge overnight, the cell is fine.

The base station shows no charge light at all after I fitted the replacement battery — what's wrong?

A Li-ion cell that has sat in storage can arrive below the voltage threshold the base station expects before it begins a charge cycle. If the cell voltage has dropped below roughly 3.0V, the base may not recognise it as a valid pack and will show no activity. Connect the handset to a USB power source via a compatible cable for 10–15 minutes to nudge the cell above the acceptance threshold, then transfer it back to the base — the charge indicator should activate within a few minutes.

My OpenStage SL4 is losing range and cutting out — could the new battery be causing this?

Yes, a weak or partially charged cell directly affects DECT transmit power. The SL4's radio module draws current in short bursts during transmission, and if the battery voltage sags under that load, the handset drops signal strength or cuts the call entirely. This is most common in the first few cycles before the cell reaches full capacity. Run two full charge cycles and retest range — if drop-outs persist beyond that, measure the resting cell voltage with a multimeter; it should read at least 3.7V after a complete charge.
