Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Agfeo Dect 50 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 3.7V, 950mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original power cell in the Agfeo Dect 50 cordless handset. It restores talk time and standby capacity lost to cycle degradation on the original pack. Dimensions are 51.54 x 32.75 x 8.30mm — confirm these against your existing cell before fitting.

  • Dect 50 handset fit: The Dect 50 runs a single-cell 3.7V Li-ion configuration. The BMS in this handset monitors cell voltage directly — a replacement cell must match the nominal voltage and physical footprint exactly, or the handset will not power on.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a Dect 50 handset. The BMS accepted the cell without error, completed a full charge cycle, and held standby draw within normal parameters.
  • First charge after installation: Place the handset in the base immediately after fitting this cell and leave it for a full charge before use. Li-ion cells shipped in storage state may read low enough to trigger the handset's low-battery cutoff within minutes of first use if you skip this step.

Talk time shorter than expected after fitting a new cell

A new Li-ion cell does not always deliver full rated capacity on the first cycle. The cell ships partially discharged for transport safety, and the BMS needs one or two full charge-discharge cycles to calibrate its capacity tracking. If talk time feels short after the first charge, run the handset until it shuts off, then charge it fully to 4.2V before using it again. Capacity typically stabilises after two to three full cycles.

Handset loses DECT pairing after battery replacement

Removing the original battery cuts power to the handset's volatile memory, which can wipe the stored base station pairing on some Dect 50 units. This is a firmware behaviour, not a fault with the replacement cell. To restore the link, initiate a fresh registration from the base station menu and follow the on-screen pairing sequence on the handset. Once re-registered, the handset operates normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

The base station shows a charging error light after I put in the new battery — what's wrong?

A Li-ion cell shipped in deep storage state can present a voltage low enough that the base station's charge circuit refuses to start. Seat the handset firmly in the base and leave it for 20–30 minutes — most Dect 50 base stations will trickle-charge a low cell until it climbs above the acceptance threshold, then switch to normal charge. If the error clears and the charge indicator lights up, the cell is recovering normally. If the error persists after 30 minutes, remove and reseat the handset to re-trigger the charge detect circuit.

My Dect 50 drains completely overnight even when it's sitting in the base — is this the battery?

Overnight drain in the base is almost always a seating issue, not a faulty cell. If the handset contacts aren't making clean contact with the base charging pins, the handset runs on battery the entire time instead of drawing from the base. Remove the handset, inspect the charge contacts on both the handset and base for dust or oxidation, then reseat it firmly until you hear or feel it click into position. Check that the charge indicator light activates — if it does, the base is supplying power and the battery should hold its charge.

The handset signal feels weaker and calls cut out closer to the base than they used to — could the new battery cause that?

Yes. When a Li-ion cell's voltage sags under the RF transmit load, the handset reduces transmit power to stay within its operating window — this shrinks effective range. It usually means the cell voltage is dropping too quickly under load, which can happen in the first few cycles before the cell is fully conditioned. Run two or three complete charge-discharge cycles and retest range. If the cutouts persist beyond that, check that the replacement cell voltage reads at least 3.6V under light load using a multimeter at the battery contacts.
