Fits Tunstall Dect handset 7202, 7212, 7722, and 7202P models using OEM battery slot.
3.7V Li-ion, 950mAh capacity delivers consistent transmit power across call cycles.
Connector slides vertically into handset battery compartment with single locking tab retention.
We bench-tested this cell in a 7202 handset — BMS accepted charge without fault codes.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — Li-ion cells in DECT platforms need slow initial conditioning to stabilize voltage sensing in the base station.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Tunstall Dect Handset 7202 / 7212 / 7722 / 7202P — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 3.7V, 950mAh Li-ion battery for the Tunstall Dect handset range used in care and healthcare facilities. It fits the Dect handset 7202, 7212, 7722, and 7202P. Physical dimensions are 51.54 × 32.75 × 8.30mm — check these against your existing cell before ordering.

  • Dect 7202 / 7212 / 7722 / 7202P compatibility: These four handsets share the same 3.7V Li-ion cell format, connector pinout, and BMS charge acceptance threshold, which is why one battery covers the full group.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Tunstall base station circuit. The BMS accepted charge cleanly from the base, held the protection cutoffs at expected low-voltage limits, and showed no false overcharge trips.
  • First-charge protocol for Li-ion care-setting handsets: After fitting this battery, seat the handset in its base and leave it for a full uninterrupted charge before first use. Tunstall base stations use a trickle-top-up charge profile — partial or interrupted first charges can cause the BMS to report a lower usable capacity than the cell actually holds.

Why the Tunstall Dect 7202 loses range after a battery swap

DECT RF transmission draws a burst of current every 10ms during active calls. If a replacement Li-ion cell has high internal resistance — common in poorly stored stock — the terminal voltage sags under that burst load. The handset's transmit power drops to compensate, and effective range shrinks noticeably. A fresh, correctly stored cell with low internal resistance maintains a stable voltage rail under RF burst load, keeping transmit power at its rated level. If range problems persist after fitting this battery, fully cycle the handset twice — charge to full, use to low, recharge — before concluding there is a range issue.

Base station charge light stays off or shows error on a new battery

Li-ion cells that have self-discharged during storage can drop below the base station's charge-acceptance voltage threshold — typically around 3.0V for this chemistry. When the base sees a voltage below that threshold, it withholds charge as a protection measure and may show no activity or an error indicator. Remove the handset, wait 30 seconds, and reseat it firmly — this resets the base's charge controller and often triggers a fresh acceptance check. If the base still does not charge, use a bench charger or a compatible USB Li-ion charging board to pre-charge the cell above 3.2V, then return it to the Tunstall base to complete the charge normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Tunstall handset talk time is much shorter than it was with the original battery — is the new cell faulty?

Li-ion cells shipped from storage are rarely at full capacity on the first cycle. The cell needs two to three full charge and discharge cycles before it reaches its rated 950mAh. Place the handset in the base after each call until it is fully charged, use it until the low-battery indicator appears, and repeat — talk time should increase noticeably by the third cycle.

The Tunstall handset is losing charge overnight even though it is sitting in the base — what is drawing it down?

This is a seating issue, not a battery fault. The Tunstall base uses a contact-based charge circuit, and if the handset is not fully pressed down into the cradle, the contacts do not close and no charge passes. Check the contacts on both the handset and the base for dust or residue, clean them with a dry cloth, and press the handset firmly into the base until it clicks or sits flush — the charge indicator should activate within a few seconds.

My Tunstall Dect handset lost its pairing with the base after I replaced the battery — how do I get it back?

Removing the battery completely cuts power to the handset's memory, and some DECT handsets drop their base pairing when that happens. Re-registration is done from the handset menu — navigate to Settings, then Registration or Handset Register, and follow the on-screen prompt while the base is powered on. If the handset menu does not show a registration option, hold the registration button on the base for five seconds until the base enters pairing mode, then power the handset on.
