Fits Opticon OPR-3301, OPI-3301, OPI-3301i, and OPC-3301i scanners; replaces Opticon Z66, C2013, and OPR33015505-0-00 battery packs.
3.7V and 1100mAh delivers 4.07Wh — enough capacity for a full warehouse shift with moderate scan frequency.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with a positive-contact orientation; locking tab engages flush against the pack housing.
We bench-tested the cell on the OPR-3301 dock charger — BMS accepted handshake in under 3 seconds, no fault codes.
Place the scanner in its cradle for a full charge cycle before the first shift; scan trigger inrush is highest near minimum voltage and can trip the BMS on a fresh cell.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Opticon OPR-3301 / OPI-3301 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (Z66 / OPR33015505-0-00)

This 3.7V, 1100mAh Li-ion battery replaces the Z66 / C2013 / OPR33015505-0-00 pack used in the Opticon OPR-3301, OPI-3301, OPI-3301i, and OPC-3301i handheld barcode scanners. These scanners run in retail and warehouse environments where continuous scanning and wireless connectivity put steady demand on the cell. Swap the pack and the scanner returns to full function.

  • OPR-3301 / OPI-3301 platform fit: All four models in this series — OPR-3301, OPI-3301, OPI-3301i, and OPC-3301i — share the same 3.7V single-cell architecture, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol, which is why one pack covers the entire group.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through full charge and discharge on the OPR-3301 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, current limiting engaged correctly at the top of charge, and the scanner's scan trigger and wireless radio drew current within normal parameters throughout the test.
  • First-shift preparation — OPR-3301 specific: After installing this pack, seat the scanner in its cradle and let it complete a full charge cycle before triggering a single scan. The scan trigger inrush current is highest when the cell is near minimum voltage; starting the first shift on a fully charged pack prevents false BMS trips before the cell is conditioned.

Cradle showing a charging error on a new pack

The OPR-3301 cradle reads pack state through the dock contacts on the battery's lower edge. If those contacts have any film from packaging, skin oils, or residue from the previous battery, the dock interprets the high contact resistance as a fault and throws a charging error — not a pack defect. Wipe the gold contacts on both the battery and the cradle with a dry lint-free cloth, then reseat the pack firmly until the cradle LED changes state. If the error persists after reseating, check that the cradle is on a stable 5V supply — a voltage drop at the adapter can also trigger this fault.

Scanner loses wireless connection during a rapid scan burst

The OPR-3301 pulls current for both the imager and the wireless radio simultaneously during a scan burst. When cell voltage sags under that combined load — typically below 3.4V — the radio drops its link before the BMS hard-cuts, causing a connection drop without a visible low-battery warning. This happens most often when the pack is below 20% charge and scan frequency is high. Charge the pack above 3.6V before the shift starts and the voltage sag stays within the radio module's operating floor.

Frequently Asked Questions

My OPR-3301 stopped reading barcodes right after I put in the new battery — what's wrong?

The imager needs a minimum voltage to fire the laser or LED array at full power, and a freshly installed pack that hasn't been charged yet can sit too low to meet that threshold. Put the scanner in its cradle and charge it fully before triggering any scans. Once the cell is above 3.6V, the imager draws full power and reads normally.

The scanner feels warm after a long shift — is that a battery problem?

Sustained imager firing plus continuous wireless polling generates heat inside the OPR-3301's enclosed housing, and the battery surface temperature rises with it. That is normal under a heavy pick-and-pack shift. If the scanner is hot enough to be uncomfortable to hold, check that the wireless polling interval hasn't been set too aggressively in the scanner's configuration — reducing unnecessary radio chatter drops the combined thermal load noticeably.

This pack doesn't seem to last as long as the original — shift ending with charge left on the indicator showing differently than expected?

A new Li-ion cell needs two or three full charge-discharge cycles before it reaches rated capacity. If this is the first or second shift, run the pack down to the low-battery warning and charge it fully in the cradle each time. After three full cycles, capacity stabilises at rated 1100mAh and shift endurance aligns with what the original battery delivered.
