Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Orbic JOY RC608L — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BTE-3402)
This 3.8V, 3000mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the OEM battery in the Orbic JOY, RC608L, ORB608LBVZPP, and Q10 4G. It matches the original BTE-3402 spec for voltage, capacity, and connector type. If your Orbic JOY shuts down unexpectedly or won't hold a charge through a normal day, this cell restores full capacity.
- JOY RC608L / ORB608LBVZPP fit group: These models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and charge IC interface. Swapping between them uses the identical BTE-3402 cell — no adapter or rewiring needed.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the RC608L platform. The BMS communicated cleanly with the charge IC, held the 3.8V nominal rail, and tripped protection correctly at both high-voltage cutoff and low-voltage floor.
- Fuel gauge recalibration tip: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging begins — skipping this step causes erratic percentage readings for the first several days.
Why the Orbic JOY reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The JOY's fuel gauge IC stores a learned discharge curve from the original cell. When you fit a new cell, that stored curve no longer matches actual cell behavior — the IC keeps reading against old data. This causes the percentage bar to jump, stall, or drop suddenly. One complete slow-charge cycle forces the coulomb counter to reset and relearn the new cell's voltage-to-capacity relationship. After that cycle, readings stabilize.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This is a voltage cliff issue. Under modem load or screen brightness spikes, the cell voltage sags below the threshold the OS uses to trigger emergency shutdown — even though the reported percentage says 20–30% remaining. It happens most often in the first few cycles before the fuel gauge recalibrates. Run two full discharge-charge cycles without fast charging, then check whether shutdowns persist. If the cell voltage at shutdown reads below 3.4V under load, the fuel gauge IC has not finished recalibrating — complete a third full cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Orbic JOY won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is the cell dead?
Likely not dead, but the BMS has tripped into lockout. Li-Polymer cells that self-discharge in storage below roughly 2.5V per cell cause the protection circuit to cut output entirely — the phone sees no voltage and won't boot. Connect the phone to a wall charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell to recover it above the BMS re-enable threshold, after which normal charging resumes. If the charge indicator still shows nothing after 45 minutes, the cell discharged too deep to recover — below 2.5V per cell is the point of no return.
Fast charging stopped working after I installed the replacement battery in my RC608L — the phone just charges slowly now.
This is normal on the first cycle after a cell swap. The USB-PD or proprietary fast-charge handshake depends partly on BMS state flags that a new cell resets to default. The charge IC falls back to standard 5V input until it completes one full charge cycle and confirms the new cell is within safe parameters. Charge the phone fully once at standard speed, let it drain to under 10%, then charge again — fast charging typically re-engages on the second cycle without any settings change.
The battery percentage on my Orbic JOY jumps around erratically — goes from 60% to 45% in seconds, then back up.
The coulomb counter inside the phone's fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the discharge curve of the old cell. A new 3000mAh Li-Polymer cell has a slightly different voltage-to-capacity slope, so the IC misreads state-of-charge during mid-range discharge. This resolves after one or two complete slow discharge-charge cycles — do not use fast charging during these calibration cycles. Once the IC has logged a full curve on the new cell, the percentage display will track smoothly.
