This 3.8V 3900mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the original AHB466684 cell in the Meder SmartGuide 2 and SmartGuide 210-464 smartphones. It restores power to the display, processor, modem, and all onboard connectivity. Dimensions are 85.20 × 63.50 × 4.50mm — measure your original cell before installing to confirm fit.

This is a voltage cliff failure. Under modem transmission or screen brightness peaks, the new cell momentarily drops below the BMS low-voltage threshold even though the fuel gauge still reads 20–30%. The OS doesn't see the voltage drop in time — the BMS cuts power before a clean shutdown. Running one full discharge to automatic cutoff, then a full charge without fast charging, teaches the coulomb counter where the real voltage floor sits and eliminates most spontaneous shutdowns.
SmartGuide 2 shows erratic or jumping battery percentage after swap
The fuel gauge IC in the SmartGuide 2 stores a learned discharge curve from the original cell. A new cell with a different internal impedance profile makes the IC's estimates unreliable — percentage can jump 10–15 points in either direction. The fix is one full uninterrupted discharge from 100% to automatic shutoff, followed by a full charge to 100%. After that cycle the coulomb counter resets its reference points against the actual cell and percentage reporting stabilises.

Likely not dead, but the BMS has locked out due to deep discharge below 2.5V per cell during storage. Connect the phone to a slow 5V/1A charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without attempting to power it on — the charge IC needs to trickle current into the cell before the BMS will re-initialise and allow normal operation. If the phone shows a charging indicator after that window, continue charging to at least 20% before booting.
Fast charging stopped working on my SmartGuide 2 the first time I plugged in after fitting this battery — is the cell faulty?
Not faulty — the USB-PD handshake between the charger and the phone's charge IC sometimes won't negotiate a fast-charge contract on the first cycle with a new cell because the BMS reports an uncalibrated state. Disconnect, wait 10 seconds, and reconnect using the original cable and charger. If fast charge still doesn't activate, complete one full standard-speed charge to 100%, then fast charging will engage normally on subsequent sessions.
The SmartGuide 2 feels warm near the battery area while charging with the new cell — is that normal?
Some warmth is expected on the first few charge cycles with a freshly installed cell. A new Li-Polymer cell starts with slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in one, so the charge IC dissipates a little more energy as heat during the constant-current phase. If the phone becomes hot to the touch or shows a thermal warning, remove it from charge and let it cool to room temperature before reconnecting. Normal warmth — not hot — resolves within two to three full charge cycles.
