Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Oregon Scientific Meep / Meep X2 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (056080CN55)
This is a 3.7V, 2900mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Oregon Scientific Meep and Meep X2 children's tablets. It matches OEM part number 056080CN55 and fits the OP0118-13 configuration. When the original cell degrades and the tablet no longer holds a charge, this replaces it directly.
- Meep and Meep X2 compatibility: Both tablets share the same 3.7V single-cell architecture, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one battery covers the full range without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a Meep X2 unit. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and the charge IC completed a full cycle to 4.2V without thermal events.
- Post-swap fuel gauge reset: After installing this battery, run the tablet down to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. The fuel gauge IC on the Meep calibrates against the new cell during this first full cycle — skipping it leaves the percentage display drifting against the actual cell state.
Why the Meep shuts down at 15–20% battery remaining
The Meep's fuel gauge IC stores a charge curve mapped to the original cell. When that cell ages and its internal resistance rises, the IC's stored curve no longer matches real-world voltage behaviour. Under combined load — backlit display, active Wi-Fi, and audio — the cell voltage drops sharply, hitting the low-voltage cutoff before the percentage readout reaches zero. Replacing the battery solves the hardware side, but the IC still needs one full discharge-to-shutoff cycle to remap the curve to the new cell. After that cycle, shutdowns at 15–20% stop.
Battery percentage jumping or stuck after replacement
This is a fuel gauge drift issue, not a fault with the new cell. The Meep uses a Coulomb-counting IC that was last calibrated to the old, degraded battery — it has no reference data for the new cell's capacity. Until it runs one complete cycle, the percentage can read 40% and jump to 15% within minutes, or stick at a fixed value for long stretches. Run the tablet fully to automatic shutoff on battery, then plug in and charge without interruption to 100%. One complete cycle resets the calibration and the percentage display stabilises at 3.7V nominal.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Meep shows 30% battery and then just turns off — is the new battery faulty?
The battery is not faulty. The fuel gauge IC on the Meep is still calibrated to the old cell's voltage curve, so it underestimates remaining charge and triggers a low-voltage cutoff before the display hits zero. Run the tablet down to automatic shutoff on battery power, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. That single full cycle recalibrates the IC against the new cell and eliminates the premature shutoff.
The Meep's battery percentage is jumping around erratically after I put the new battery in — what's happening?
The Coulomb-counting fuel gauge IC has no stored reference for the new cell's capacity — it's still using data from the degraded original. Without a calibration cycle, the percentage skips and stalls because the IC's charge map no longer matches real voltage behaviour. Do one full discharge to automatic shutoff, then a full uninterrupted charge to 100%. After that cycle the percentage tracks correctly and the erratic jumps stop.
The Meep feels warm while charging with the new battery — should I be concerned?
Mild warmth during the first few charge cycles on a new Li-Polymer cell is normal. The charge IC adjusts its current profile as it characterises the new cell, and that process generates some heat. If the tablet is uncomfortably hot to hold or shows a charging error on screen, remove it from the charger and check the connector seating. For normal warmth with no error, continue charging — it settles after the first two full cycles as the charge IC locks in its profile for the new cell.
