Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Palm Tungsten TX — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery
This 3.7V, 1250mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the original battery in the Palm Tungsten TX PDA. The Tungsten TX is a mid-2000s Palm OS handheld used for contacts, calendar, email, and third-party applications. When the original cell degrades and the device can no longer hold a charge, this battery restores normal operation.
- Tungsten TX platform fit: The Tungsten TX uses a compact Li-Polymer cell at 3.7V nominal. This replacement matches the original cell's voltage rail and physical footprint — 60.20 x 36.50 x 5.00mm — so the connector seats correctly against the board.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Tungsten TX mainboard. The BMS accepted charge from a standard Palm cradle without fault flags, and voltage held steady under screen-on load.
- RAM power and data sync before removal: The Tungsten TX stores open application state and unsaved data in volatile SRAM powered directly by the main battery. Perform a full HotSync to your host computer before removing the old cell — any data not written to flash storage at the moment of power loss is gone permanently.
Why the Tungsten TX fails to boot after a new battery is installed
The Tungsten TX boot ROM checks for a minimum voltage threshold before launching Palm OS. A new Li-Polymer cell shipped in storage state often sits at 3.0V or below — below the threshold the device needs to begin the boot sequence. The device will show a blank screen or a low-battery icon and refuse to proceed. Charge the battery in the cradle or via USB for at least 30 minutes before pressing the power button for the first time.
Tungsten TX showing full charge but resetting unexpectedly under load
This symptom points to a degraded cell that can no longer sustain voltage when the backlight and processor peak simultaneously. The battery gauge on Palm OS reads resting voltage, not load voltage — so it reports 100% even when the cell sags under draw. With a fresh 1250mAh Li-Polymer cell, resting voltage after a full charge should read 4.1–4.2V at the test points on the connector. If unexpected resets continue after swapping the battery, check that the connector is fully seated — an intermittent contact produces the same symptom.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Tungsten TX lost all my contacts and calendar entries after I swapped the battery — is that normal?
Yes, and it happens because the Tungsten TX holds open application data in SRAM, which loses power the moment the battery is disconnected. Any record not written to flash storage — including recent edits — is erased on power removal. Always run a full HotSync to your desktop before pulling the old cell. Restore from that sync backup after the new battery is installed and the device has booted cleanly.
The Tungsten TX screen stays blank after I put the new battery in — nothing happens when I press power.
A new Li-Polymer cell ships in a low-storage state, often at or below 3.0V. The Tungsten TX boot ROM requires a higher minimum voltage before it will initialise Palm OS, so a blank screen with no response is a voltage floor problem, not a dead battery. Place the device in the HotSync cradle or connect the charger and leave it for 30–45 minutes before pressing power. If the charge indicator LED lights up, the cell is being recognised and charging correctly.
My Tungsten TX drops its Wi-Fi connection repeatedly after the battery swap, even though the charge indicator shows full.
The Tungsten TX Wi-Fi radio draws a sharp current spike each time it transmits, and voltage-sensitive radio circuitry will drop the connection if the cell cannot sustain that draw. A partially charged or poorly seated Li-Polymer cell creates exactly this behaviour even when the on-screen gauge reads high. Charge to a full 4.2V resting voltage, then reseat the battery connector firmly before testing Wi-Fi again. If the drops continue only during file transfers or email sync — not during idle — the cell is taking load and the fault is more likely in the Wi-Fi profile settings, not the battery.
