Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Panasonic KX-HN1032W / KX-HN3001 Series — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (ID972)
This 3.7V, 2200mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the OEM ID972 cell in the Panasonic KX-HN1032W baby monitor parent unit. It fits the KX-HN1032W, KX-HN3001, KX-HN3051, and KX-HN4001W parent handsets, along with two additional models in this monitor range. Capacity is sourced from product data — 2200mAh (8.14Wh).
- KX-HN series parent unit compatibility: These models share the same 3.7V battery rail, physical connector type, and BMS handshake protocol. Swapping between models in this range uses the same ID972 footprint — same cell dimensions (56.40 × 42.00 × 12.60mm) and same charge termination voltage.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the KX-HN parent unit. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags, charged to full termination voltage, and held charge across repeated power cycles without triggering low-battery cutoff prematurely.
- Re-pair the parent unit after installation: The KX-HN parent unit loses its wireless link to the camera unit when power is fully interrupted. After fitting this battery, run a fresh pairing sequence from the parent unit menu before expecting video or audio from the baby unit.
Parent unit not connecting to camera unit after battery swap
When the parent unit's battery is fully removed, the wireless registration data stored in volatile memory can clear. The parent unit then boots without a recognised camera pairing, showing a "no link" or blank screen. This is not a faulty battery — it is a power-interruption side effect common to DECT-based baby monitors. Navigate to the parent unit's registration menu and run the pairing sequence with the camera unit powered on to restore the link.
Parent unit draining overnight with screen active
The KX-HN parent unit's LCD backlight is one of the highest continuous draws on this battery. Running the screen at full brightness through an 8-hour night draws significantly more current than audio-only monitoring mode. The BMS will trigger low-battery shutdown before morning if screen timeout is disabled. Set the screen timeout to the shortest acceptable interval — typically 30 seconds — in the display settings menu to extend usable charge per cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions
The night vision feed on my KX-HN camera looks dark and grainy after I put the new battery in — what's wrong?
The IR LEDs in the camera unit are powered by the camera, not the parent unit battery — so the replacement battery itself isn't causing the dark feed. What happens is that after a full power interruption, the parent unit sometimes re-pairs at a lower signal strength, reducing the quality of the received image. Charge the parent unit fully before use, then re-run the pairing sequence. A fully charged cell delivers the correct radio output voltage, which restores maximum link quality and a clear night vision image.
My KX-HN parent unit range dropped noticeably after the battery swap — it cuts out two rooms away when it used to reach the whole house.
The DECT radio module in the KX-HN parent unit is voltage-sensitive — at anything below roughly 3.6V, transmit power falls and range shrinks. A new battery that hasn't completed a full first charge will sit below that threshold. Charge the parent unit uninterrupted until the charge indicator clears, then test range again. If range is still reduced after a full charge, re-pair the parent unit to the camera unit, as a weak registration handshake can also limit effective transmission distance.
The parent unit shows "charging" but the battery percentage never goes up — it's been on the dock for two hours.
This usually means the BMS entered a protection state during shipping — deeply discharged Li-Polymer cells can lock out standard charge current until a low-rate pre-charge pulse reactivates them. Leave the parent unit on the dock for a further 30–60 minutes without interrupting the charge cycle; the BMS will apply a trickle pre-charge before switching to full current. If the indicator still does not advance after 90 minutes total, remove the parent unit from the dock, wait 60 seconds, and reseat it to reset the charge handshake — the BMS should then begin a normal charge cycle.
