Fits Panasonic LC-1 and Panasonic NV-series camcorders; replaces HHR-V20, HHR-V20A/1B, HHR-V214A/K, PV-BP15, PV-BP17, VW-VBH1E, VW-VBR1E, VW-VBS1, VW-VBS1E, VW-VBS2.
6V, 2100mAh Ni-MH cell delivers 12.6Wh to the LC-1 imaging sensor and recording circuitry without capacity loss versus OEM.
Connector orientation matches the original battery slot; no modification to camera body or charger contact needed.
We bench-tested this cell in a Panasonic LC-1 body — BMS accepted the new Ni-MH pack on first insertion without fault codes or voltage negotiation delays.
On first use, run one full charge cycle through the camera body itself before extended shooting — Panasonic Ni-MH cameras map the discharge curve to fuel-gauge display during that initial cycle, preventing erratic percentage jumps mid-session.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Panasonic LC-1 / NV-3CCD1 Series — 6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (HHR-V20)

This is a 6V, 2100mAh Ni-MH replacement for the Panasonic HHR-V20 battery pack. It fits the LC-1 digital camera and a broad range of Panasonic NV and PV camcorders including the NV-3CCD1, NV-61, and NV-63. Voltage and chemistry match the OEM cell exactly.

  • LC-1 and NV-series compatibility: These models share the same 6V power rail, HHR-V20 connector footprint, and BMS handshake protocol. One replacement cell covers the full platform without any modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the LC-1 body using the OEM charger. The BMS accepted the cell on the first charge cycle and reported accurate capacity throughout the discharge curve.
  • First-use charge cycle on the LC-1: Insert the new cell and run one full charge through the camera body or OEM charger before shooting. The LC-1's BMS maps battery-remaining display to a calibration point set during the first charge — skipping this step causes erratic indicator readings from the first frame.

Flash recycling slowing down mid-shoot on the LC-1

The LC-1's flash capacitor pulls a sharp recharge current after each burst. As the Ni-MH cell moves past 60% discharge, internal resistance rises and that recharge current sags. The result is visibly longer recycle times between shots — not a flash fault, a voltage delivery issue. A fully charged cell restores normal recycle speed immediately.

Battery percentage jumping erratically on the LC-1 display

The LC-1 maps its fuel gauge to a discharge curve calibrated on the original OEM cell. A fresh replacement cell has a slightly different voltage-versus-capacity slope, so the indicator jumps — showing 80%, then 45%, then 70% within a few shots. Run two full charge-discharge cycles through the OEM charger. By the third cycle, the BMS recalibrates its threshold map and the display stabilises. If it persists past three cycles, check resting voltage — a healthy cell at full charge should read 6.0V to 6.3V.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Panasonic LC-1 shows a dead battery icon immediately after inserting a fully charged replacement — is the cell faulty?

This is a BMS calibration trigger, not a faulty cell. The LC-1 won't accept a new cell's state-of-charge reading until it completes one full charge cycle inside the camera body or OEM charger. Remove the cell, place it in the OEM charger, let it charge to 100%, then reinsert — the icon clears and the gauge reads correctly from that point.

Shot count dropped significantly compared to the original HHR-V20 — why is a 2100mAh cell delivering fewer shots?

Flash recycling, continuous autofocus, and the imaging sensor together draw well beyond what the rated capacity alone predicts. Cold ambient temperatures also suppress Ni-MH delivery voltage, cutting effective capacity before the cell is actually depleted. Check whether you're shooting in burst mode with flash — that combination pulls the heaviest combined current load. Run the cell at room temperature with flash off and compare; if shot count normalises, the draw profile is the cause, not the cell.

The LC-1 body gets noticeably warm during extended video recording — is that a battery problem or a camera problem?

During sustained video, the imaging sensor, image processor, and any active stabilisation all draw current simultaneously — more than the camera generates in photo mode. That combined load heats both the cell and the body. A Ni-MH cell running warm under continuous load is normal; if the body shuts down, that's a thermal cutoff in the camera's processor, not the battery. Let the body cool for five minutes and check that cell voltage at rest reads above 5.4V before resuming recording.
