Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Pantech Perception Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BRT52AB)
This is a 3.7V, 1700mAh Li-ion battery for the Pantech Perception, Perception 4G, ADR930L, and Premia V smartphones. It replaces OEM part numbers BRT52AB and BTR930B. Fit this battery when the original cell has degraded, swells, or no longer holds a usable charge.
- Perception series compatibility: The Perception and Perception 4G share the same 3.7V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell covers both variants without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on the Perception platform. The BMS accepted charge current correctly, protection circuits tripped at expected cutoff thresholds, and no thermal anomalies were recorded.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after install: On first use, disable any fast-charge mode and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle before normal use. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before the charge controller pushes higher current into an uncalibrated cell.
Why the Perception reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The Perception's fuel gauge IC stores a learned discharge curve from the original cell. When a new cell goes in, that stored curve no longer matches the actual voltage-to-capacity relationship of the replacement. The IC reads voltage but maps it against the old curve, producing inaccurate percentage readings. One full discharge cycle down to automatic shutdown, followed by a complete charge to 100%, forces the coulomb counter to reset and relearn the new cell's curve.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This happens when the cell voltage drops sharply under load — typically when the modem fires a transmission burst or the screen peaks brightness — before the fuel gauge triggers a low-battery warning. The cell voltage collapses below the BMS cutoff threshold, around 3.0V, faster than the percentage reading suggests. A fresh cell that hasn't completed its first calibration cycle is most prone to this. Run one full discharge-charge cycle and check that resting voltage reads at least 4.15V after a full charge.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Pantech Perception powers on after installing the new battery but shuts off suddenly when I make a call or the screen is at full brightness — what's happening?
The modem and display draw peak current simultaneously, pulling cell voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold of around 3.0V before the percentage indicator shows a low warning. This is a voltage sag issue on a new cell that hasn't completed its first calibration cycle. Run one complete discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate. After that cycle, check resting voltage after a full charge: it should read at least 4.15V.
The Perception won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before I installed it — is it dead?
Likely not dead — the BMS has locked out the cell due to voltage dropping below approximately 2.5V per cell during storage, a protection state that prevents charging a deeply discharged lithium cell at full current. Connect the phone to a wall charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button; the charge IC runs a trickle pre-charge sequence to bring the cell back above the lockout threshold before allowing normal charge current. If the battery icon appears on screen, the BMS has recovered — let it charge fully before booting.
Fast charging stopped working on my Perception after I replaced the battery — it only charges slowly now, even with the original charger and cable.
On the first charge cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC on some Pantech devices defaults to a conservative constant-current profile until it has verified BMS handshake data from the new cell. This is not a fault — it is a one-cycle safety behaviour. Let the phone complete one full charge to 100% on the slow profile without interruption, then unplug and restart the device. On the next charge session, the fast-charge profile should re-engage; confirm by checking that the phone feels warmer near the battery compartment during the first few minutes of charging, which indicates higher charge current is flowing.
