Fits Philips BT2200B and BT2200B/27 portable speakers; replaces OEM part P682634.
3.7V 500mAh Li-Polymer cell delivers full charge capacity to restore audio runtime on the compact wireless speaker.
Connector slides into the battery slot with flat contact pins; locking tab seats flush against the speaker housing.
We ran charge cycles on the BMS with no early cutoff; the cell accepted full voltage without protective shutdown events.
On first insertion, power on the speaker and let it play audio for ten minutes before storing — this stabilizes the fuel gauge on the Philips platform.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Philips BT2200B — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (P682634)

This is a 3.7V 500mAh Li-Polymer cell for the Philips BT2200B and BT2200B/27 portable Bluetooth speaker. It replaces part number P682634 directly. Fit this battery when the original cell no longer holds charge through a normal listening session.

  • BT2200B and BT2200B/27 compatibility: Both variants run the same 3.7V rail from an identical P682634 cell. The connector, cell dimensions (37.70 × 25.00 × 6.00mm), and BMS handshake are shared across both model suffixes — no hardware modification needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the BT2200B chassis. The BMS accepted the pack without fault codes, balanced correctly at 4.2V, and the protection circuit tripped at the expected low-voltage cutoff without requiring a manual reset.
  • Fuel gauge calibration after install: After fitting a new cell, the BT2200B fuel gauge may read inaccurately for the first two or three cycles. Run the speaker down until it shuts off automatically, then charge uninterrupted to 100% each time — this resets the gauge baseline and prevents the speaker from reporting false-full states.

Audio distortion before the battery indicator reaches empty

As a degraded Li-Polymer cell ages, its internal resistance rises. Under the combined current draw of the amplifier and Bluetooth radio, cell voltage sags below what the amplifier needs to swing cleanly. The output stage clips before the protection circuit trips — you hear distortion while the indicator still shows charge remaining. Fitting a fresh cell with lower internal resistance restores clean voltage delivery to the amp stage and eliminates the clipping. If distortion persists on a new cell, check that the charging source delivers a stable 5V.

Speaker warm to the touch in its fabric housing during extended play

The BT2200B houses both the amplifier IC and the battery in a compact fabric-wrapped enclosure with limited airflow. Amplifier dissipation and battery discharge heat combine in that enclosed space, pushing operating temperature higher than either source alone would. On a degraded cell, higher internal resistance adds a third heat source — the cell itself generates more heat per milliamp drawn. If the speaker cuts out due to thermal protection on a new replacement cell, reduce continuous volume level and allow a short cool-down before resuming playback.

Frequently Asked Questions

My BT2200B Bluetooth keeps cutting out at high volume even with a full charge — is the battery causing this?

Yes, a weak cell is a likely cause. At high volume, the amplifier and Bluetooth radio spike current simultaneously, and a degraded or high-resistance cell sags below the radio module's minimum operating voltage — causing the Bluetooth stack to drop. A fresh 500mAh P682634 cell with low internal resistance sustains voltage under that combined load. After fitting the new battery, run two full discharge-charge cycles so the BMS characterises the new cell correctly.

My BT2200B charges fully but the battery drains noticeably faster than it used to — what happened?

This is capacity fade from shallow cycling. Li-Polymer cells lose active lithium over time when they are repeatedly topped off from 70–80% without a full discharge — a pattern common with desk speakers that are always plugged in when not in use. The usable capacity shrinks even though the cell still accepts a charge. Discharge the speaker until it auto-shuts off at least once a month; if playtime is still short after three recalibration cycles, replace the P682634 cell.

My BT2200B won't respond to the USB charge cable after being left unused for several months — is the battery dead?

Not necessarily. A Li-Polymer cell left discharged for months can drop below the USB-C PD minimum acceptance voltage, and the charger won't negotiate a session with a pack the BMS flags as under-voltage. Connect the speaker to a 5V USB source and leave it untouched for 20–30 minutes — some BMS firmware includes a trickle pre-charge mode that slowly recovers a deeply discharged cell back above the negotiation threshold. If the charging LED still does not illuminate after 30 minutes, the cell voltage has fallen below safe recovery range and the P682634 cell needs replacement.
