Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Poly Calisto 5300 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (VDL952246)
This 3.7V, 950mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the VDL952246 cell inside the Poly Calisto 5300 portable Bluetooth speakerphone. It restores wireless calling and audio playback capability to units that no longer hold a charge. Capacity is rated at 3.52Wh and matches the original pack dimensions at 45.50 × 21.40 × 9.50mm.
- Calisto 5300 fitment: The 5300 runs a single Li-Polymer cell at 3.7V nominal to power both the Bluetooth radio and the class-D amplifier simultaneously. This replacement matches that voltage rail and physical footprint so the BMS handshake completes without an error state.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through combined Bluetooth streaming and amplifier load. The BMS held the low-voltage cutoff correctly and did not trip on the transient current spike the amplifier pulls during loud audio passages.
- Fuel gauge reset after swap: After fitting the new cell, run the Calisto 5300 down to the low-battery indicator, then charge it uninterrupted to full — this recalibrates the internal fuel gauge so the charge indicator reflects actual capacity rather than a residual reading from the old cell.
Why the Calisto 5300 shows full charge but audio drops after about an hour
A Li-Polymer cell kept constantly topped off at a desk never completes a full discharge cycle. Over time, the fuel gauge drifts and reports full when the actual usable capacity has shrunk significantly. The amplifier and Bluetooth radio together draw enough current that the true state of charge drops faster than the indicator shows. The speaker then hits the BMS cutoff unexpectedly, killing audio mid-session despite the indicator never reaching empty.
Audio distorting before the battery indicator reaches empty
At high volume the class-D amplifier in the Calisto 5300 pulls a sharp current spike on every bass transient. When the cell is partially discharged, internal resistance rises and voltage sags under that spike. The amplifier clips because the supply rail dips below the threshold it needs to reproduce the signal cleanly. If distortion starts appearing with charge still showing, check the terminal voltage under load — a healthy cell should hold above 3.5V during playback.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Calisto 5300 won't wake up from USB even after leaving it on the charger overnight — what's wrong?
If the cell has discharged below the USB-C PD minimum acceptance voltage, the charger handshake never completes and the pack sits undetected. The BMS needs the cell above roughly 2.5V before it will accept a charge current. Connect it to a 5V USB-A port instead of USB-C, which applies a trickle current that can bring the cell back into the BMS acceptance range. If the indicator still doesn't respond after 30 minutes on USB-A, the cell has likely dropped too low to recover and needs replacing.
The Calisto 5300 Bluetooth drops out specifically at loud volume but reconnects when I turn it down — is that a radio fault?
It's not the radio — it's a voltage sag issue. At high volume the amplifier pulls a combined current spike with the Bluetooth radio that the degraded cell can't sustain. The voltage sags enough that the radio momentarily loses the power it needs to hold the connection. Replacing the cell eliminates the sag; we saw stable Bluetooth hold through sustained loud playback on bench once the new VDL952246 cell was fitted.
The Calisto 5300 gets noticeably warm on the underside during long conference calls — is that normal with a new battery?
Some warmth is expected — the amplifier and battery discharge both generate heat, and the compact fabric-covered housing has limited airflow. With a healthy cell the warmth should stay mild and even. If the unit gets hot to the touch or the warmth is concentrated in one spot, the cell may have an internal resistance fault. Check that the replacement cell sits flush with no pressure on the contacts, and confirm the device isn't simultaneously charging and streaming, which stacks amplifier heat on top of charge heat in the same enclosure.
