Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Phonak Compilot Air II — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (IP532328)
This 3.7V, 300mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the original battery in the Phonak Compilot Air II wireless audio streamer. The Compilot Air II streams audio from smartphones, televisions, and other Bluetooth sources directly to compatible Phonak hearing aids. Capacity figures are taken from the product data — 300mAh, 1.11Wh.
- Compilot Air II and 2 Audio Streamer fit: Both units share the same OEM part number IP532328, the same 3.7V cell footprint at 27.50 × 24.60 × 5.00mm, and the same BMS handshake to the charging circuit — a single cell replacement covers both variants.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Compilot Air II platform and confirmed the BMS completed its handshake correctly, reporting cell state accurately to the device rather than locking at a fixed percentage.
- First-charge protocol for the Compilot Air II: Place the unit in its charging cradle for a complete uninterrupted cycle before pairing it with hearing aids. The streamer needs a full first cycle to let its BMS register the new cell capacity — skipping this causes the charge indicator to read inaccurately from day one.
Base station showing full charge but Compilot Air II cuts off after short use
A replacement cell ships at storage voltage — typically around 3.6V — not at full 4.2V. The base station may register a charge LED as complete before the cell has actually reached capacity, because the BMS has not yet calibrated to the new cell. The streamer then runs out of usable charge faster than expected. One complete, uninterrupted charge cycle in the cradle resolves this. After that cycle, the indicator and actual capacity align.
Compilot Air II cutting out mid-stream under combined Bluetooth and audio load
The Compilot Air II runs a Bluetooth radio and an audio processing stage simultaneously, which draws more current than the cell sees during standby. If the cell voltage sags under that combined draw — common with a degraded original battery — the BMS trips a low-voltage cutoff before the charge indicator reaches zero. A fresh 300mAh cell with intact internal resistance handles the combined draw without triggering cutoff. If drop-outs continue after fitting a new cell, check the device firmware version, as some early Compilot Air II units had power-management bugs patched in updates.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Compilot Air II keeps cutting out mid-stream even with a new battery — what's causing it?
The streamer runs its Bluetooth radio and audio processor at the same time, which spikes current draw beyond what a degraded or unconditioned cell can sustain. The BMS trips a low-voltage cutoff before the display shows empty, so it looks like a sudden failure rather than a flat battery. On a new cell, this usually clears after two or three full charge cycles as the BMS learns the cell's actual capacity curve. If drop-outs persist past five cycles, check whether a firmware update is available for your Compilot Air II — early firmware had known power-management issues.
The base station shows a full charge almost immediately after I fit the new battery — is that right?
No — a new replacement cell ships at storage voltage, around 3.6V, not the full 4.2V charge voltage. The base station can misread that initial state and signal a complete charge before the cell is actually full. Leave the Compilot Air II in the cradle for a complete, uninterrupted charge cycle without removing it early. After that first full cycle the BMS calibrates to the new cell and the indicator reads accurately.
Talk time seems short for the first few uses — does the battery need to break in?
Yes. Li-Polymer cells deliver their rated capacity after three to five full charge-discharge cycles, not from the first use. The BMS also refines its state-of-charge estimate over those early cycles, so the indicator becomes more accurate as the cell conditions. Run the Compilot Air II down until it powers off naturally, then charge fully — repeat that two more times. By cycle three, usable streaming time should be consistent with the 300mAh rated capacity.
