Fits the V Tech iS6200 wireless headset and replaces OEM battery BT290576.
This 3.7V, 140mAh lithium-ion cell powers the headset's DECT radio and audio transmission simultaneously.
The battery slides into the headset's rear compartment with a positive contact alignment — no locking tab.
We ran the pack through five charge cycles on the V Tech base station; BMS handshake completed cleanly on cycle one.
On first use, charge the headset in the base station for a full cycle before taking a call — DECT headsets require the base to log the new cell before the talk-time estimate becomes accurate.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

V Tech iS6200 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BT290576)

This is a 3.7V 140mAh Li-ion replacement cell for the V Tech iS6200 wireless DECT headset. It replaces OEM part BT290576 and slots directly into the headset housing. Fit the new cell when the original no longer holds a charge or the headset cuts off unexpectedly mid-call.

  • iS6200 platform fit: The iS6200 headset uses a single Li-ion cell at 3.7V nominal with a compact 35.60 × 24.65 × 10.00mm footprint. The BMS on this replacement matches the charge profile and cutoff thresholds the base station expects from the OEM pack.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the iS6200 base station. The BMS handshake completed cleanly, charge termination triggered at the correct voltage, and the base station reported a full charge without error.
  • First-cycle base station registration: On first use, seat the headset in the base and let it complete a full uninterrupted charge before taking a call. DECT headsets log the new cell during that first cycle — skipping it causes the talk-time indicator to read inaccurately until the cell is properly registered.

Base station not recognising the new pack after fitting

The iS6200 base station communicates with the battery's BMS to verify cell state before beginning a charge cycle. If the replacement cell ships at storage voltage — typically around 3.6V — the base may flag a charge error or show no activity on the indicator. This is not a fault with the cell. Seat the headset firmly in the cradle and leave it undisturbed for at least 30 minutes. The BMS will initialise and the base station will begin a normal charge cycle.

Headset cuts out mid-call even with a charged battery

The iS6200 draws current for both audio processing and the DECT radio simultaneously during a call. If the cell has degraded, that combined load causes a brief voltage sag below the BMS cutoff threshold, which shuts the headset off even though the indicator showed a full charge. A new cell resolves this because its internal resistance is low enough to sustain the combined draw without sagging. After fitting the replacement, confirm the resting voltage is at or above 3.7V before the first call.

Frequently Asked Questions

My iS6200 base station shows a charging error after I fitted the new battery — what's wrong?

The base station checks the BMS state before it starts charging, and a cell arriving at storage voltage can trigger that error. It is not a defective battery. Place the headset in the cradle and leave it seated without removing it for at least 30 minutes — the BMS will initialise and the base will begin a normal charge cycle. If the error clears and the charge indicator activates, the handshake completed correctly.

Talk time is noticeably short for the first few days after fitting the replacement — is that normal?

Yes. Li-ion cells need three to five full charge and discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity. During those early cycles the cell's active material hasn't fully conditioned, so available capacity is lower than the 140mAh rating. Keep cycling the headset through normal use — full charges in the base, full use before recharging — and talk time will increase incrementally over those first cycles.

The headset gets noticeably warm during long calls — should I be concerned?

Some warmth is expected. The iS6200 housing is small, and the cell sustains combined audio and DECT radio draw with limited airflow around the pack. Warmth that fades shortly after a call ends is normal. If the headset becomes hot to the touch and shuts off, the cell's thermal protection has tripped — remove it from your ear, let it cool for five minutes, then return it to the base and allow a full charge before the next call.
