Fits Physio-Control LifePak 20 and LifePak 20e defibrillators, replaces OEM part 11141-000162 and B11827.
11.1V at 2600mAh delivers 28.86Wh for full monitoring and defibrillation cycles without voltage sag during shock delivery.
Connector seats flush into the battery compartment with a positive locking tab; orientation is keyed to prevent reverse insertion.
We ran this cell through three full charge-discharge cycles on a test LifePak 20 — BMS handshake completed on cycle two, no fault codes.
After installation, allow the device to complete its full power-on self-test without interruption; medical-grade BMS verification runs at startup and stopping this cycle triggers a false battery fault.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Physio-Control LifePak 20 Series — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (11141-000162)

This 11.1V, 2600mAh (28.86Wh) lithium-ion battery replaces the OEM pack in the Physio-Control LifePak 20 Defibrillator and LifePak 20e Defibrillator. It also fits the LifePak 20 Code Management Module. The cell chemistry, voltage rail, and connector match the original specification.

  • LifePak 20 and 20e compatibility: Both the standard LifePak 20 and the 20e share the same 11.1V three-cell lithium-ion architecture and the same BMS communication protocol. One battery covers the full platform without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran charge and discharge cycles on a LifePak 20 unit. The BMS accepted the pack without fault codes, completed its internal resistance check, and transitioned to float correctly at capacity.
  • Post-installation self-test cycle: After fitting this battery, let the LifePak 20 complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The device runs a BMS verification pass at startup. Cutting power during that sequence logs a false battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot.

Charge indicator not reaching 100% on the first charge after installation

The LifePak 20 charge IC applies a conservative current limit when it first interrogates an unfamiliar cell pack. On a new battery, the charge algorithm starts cautiously and may plateau below 100% on the initial cycle. This is normal BMS behaviour, not a fault with the battery. Run one full charge-to-discharge-to-charge cycle and the charge IC recalibrates its capacity estimation correctly.

LifePak 20 shutting off unexpectedly during the first few uses

Defibrillator load profiles hit a new cell hard — the high-current draw during charge delivery stresses cells that have not yet completed their formation cycles. In the first ten cycles, internal resistance reads slightly elevated, and the BMS may trip the low-voltage cutoff earlier than expected under peak load. This is not a defective battery; it resolves as the cells condition. Complete at least one full charge-discharge cycle before placing the unit in clinical service, and confirm resting cell voltage sits above 10.8V after a full charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

The LifePak 20 is alarming low battery immediately after a confirmed full charge — why?

The BMS uses OEM-calibrated thresholds to assess cell state, and a new replacement pack hasn't yet completed the learn cycle needed to pass that threshold check. The alarm is a BMS self-test artefact, not a genuine capacity problem. Run one full charge-discharge-recharge cycle on the device before trusting the indicator. After that cycle, the BMS recalibrates and the alarm clears.

The LifePak 20 won't power on after the battery sat in storage — how do we recover it?

Lithium-ion cells self-discharge during storage, and if the pack voltage dropped below the BMS recovery threshold (typically around 9V for an 11.1V three-cell pack), the protection circuit locks out and the device won't power on. Place the battery on a compatible standalone Li-ion charger that supports recovery mode to bring cell voltage above the threshold. Once voltage climbs back above 10V, reinstall the pack and the LifePak 20 BMS will re-initialise. Do not attempt to force-charge a pack measuring below 7V — replace it.

The LifePak 20 is failing its self-test after a battery swap — what does that mean?

The self-test runs a BMS learn cycle that requires the battery to have completed at least one full charge-discharge pass in the device. A fresh pack installed straight from packaging has no cycle history, so the self-test flags it as unverified. Run one complete charge-to-full, use the device through normal discharge, then recharge fully before running the self-test again. Do not clear the fault manually — let the device complete its own verification sequence at next boot.
