Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Psion Teklogix 7535 / 7530 G2 — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (HU3000)
This 7.4V, 1950mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original HU3000 pack in the Psion Teklogix 7535, 7535LX, and 7530 G2 mobile computers. These units are warehouse and field data-collection terminals — the battery powers the CPU, wireless radio, and scan engine simultaneously. Voltage and capacity match OEM spec exactly.
- 7535, 7535LX, and 7530 G2 compatibility: All three models share the same battery bay dimensions, 7.4V nominal voltage rail, and HU3000 connector footprint. The BMS communication protocol is identical across the group, so the same pack works without modification in any of them.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated scan-trigger and 802.11b radio polling loads. The BMS held protection thresholds correctly, and voltage stayed stable under combined inrush from the scan engine and wireless module firing together.
- First-shift preparation on the 7535: After installing, seat the scanner in its cradle for a full charge cycle before putting it into active pick-and-pack rotation. The scan trigger draws its highest inrush current when the cell is near minimum — a fully charged pack prevents a false BMS trip on the very first shift.
Cradle showing a charging error after fitting a new pack
The 7535 cradle reads battery state through pogo-pin contacts on the base of the terminal. If those contacts have oxidation or debris from warehouse use, the dock sees a high-resistance connection and flags a charge fault even when the pack itself is fine. Remove the terminal, wipe the gold contacts on both the pack and the dock with a dry cloth, then reseat firmly. The error clears once contact resistance drops below the cradle's detection threshold.
Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts
During a fast scan burst, the 7535 fires the scan engine and transmits the barcode data over Wi-Fi almost simultaneously. That combined inrush — scan laser plus radio transmit — creates a brief current spike larger than either load alone. If the battery is below roughly 20% charge, the BMS can trip the low-voltage cutoff during that spike, dropping the wireless session. Recharge the pack to full before a high-volume shift, and the combined draw stays within the BMS operating window.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Teklogix 7535 stopped reading barcodes right after I put in the new battery — what's wrong?
The scan engine on the 7535 needs a minimum voltage to fire the laser or imager reliably, and a new pack ships at a partial state of charge. If the cell is below that threshold, the scan trigger activates but the engine doesn't produce a clean read. Place the terminal in its cradle and charge the new pack to 100% before use — full charge eliminates this on the first shift.
The 7535 feels noticeably warm after a long warehouse shift — is that a battery problem?
Warmth is normal on the 7535 because the housing encloses the CPU, wireless radio, and scan engine in a compact shell with no active cooling. Sustained scanning plus constant Wi-Fi polling generates heat that has nowhere to go quickly. The battery itself contributes when it's working hard — check that the terminal isn't also sitting in direct sunlight or a warm vehicle, which stacks ambient heat on top of operating heat. If the unit is hot to the point of discomfort, give it a 10-minute rest and check that the battery vents and contacts are clear.
This new battery isn't lasting as long through a shift as our old one did — why?
Scan burst frequency and wireless polling interval both draw from the same cell, and warehouse environments vary significantly in both. A high-density pick zone with continuous scanning and constant 802.11 re-association will drain the 1950mAh pack faster than light-use routes. Check your Wi-Fi roaming settings on the 7535 — aggressive roaming causes repeated radio handshakes that add background current draw. Reducing the polling interval in the terminal's wireless profile is the single most effective way to stretch capacity per shift.
