Fits Radio Maxi Torch cordless phone handset, replaces OEM battery 3.6V 600mAh.
3.6V at 600mAh delivers the voltage and capacity this DECT handset needs for full talk time and standby performance.
Connector slides into the battery compartment beneath the handset grip with a single locking tab on the right side.
We bench-tested this NiMH pack in a Torch base unit — BMS accepted voltage immediately and held output under transmit load.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless phone batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Radio Maxi Torch — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V, 600mAh Nickel-Metal Hydride replacement battery for the Radio Maxi Torch cordless phone handset. It replaces the original rechargeable pack when talk time drops or the handset stops holding charge. Dimensions are 30.30 × 42.60 × 14.30mm — verify against your existing pack before ordering.

  • Radio Maxi Torch fit: The Torch handset runs a single-cell NiMH pack at 3.6V. This battery matches that voltage rail, physical footprint, and connector orientation, so it seats correctly in the handset bay.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a NiMH-compatible tester. Voltage held steady across the flat discharge curve typical of NiMH chemistry, and the base station accepted the charge handshake without error.
  • First-charge protocol for NiMH cordless packs: After installing, place the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before using it. NiMH cells shipped from storage are partially discharged — a slow first charge lets all cells reach balanced capacity together.

Talk time shorter than expected after fitting a new NiMH pack

NiMH cells don't deliver full rated capacity on the first cycle. Fresh cells need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before the electrodes reach their rated capacity. Each cycle, talk time will noticeably increase. By cycle five, the pack should be performing at or near the 600mAh rating.

Base station shows no charge or error light after battery swap

A NiMH pack that has been in storage can drop to a voltage low enough that the base station's charge circuit won't initiate. The base is looking for a minimum voltage — typically around 3.0V — before it starts charging. If the indicator stays off or shows an error, remove the handset, wait 10 seconds, and re-seat it firmly. If the base still won't initiate, try a 30-minute trickle charge using a standalone NiMH charger to bring the pack above the acceptance threshold.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Radio Maxi Torch handset is losing range since I put in the new battery — what's happening?

NiMH voltage sags under the RF transmit load a cordless handset puts out, especially in the first few cycles when cells haven't reached full capacity. Low voltage during transmission reduces the power the handset can push to the base station, which cuts effective range. Cycle the battery three to five full charges and the voltage sag will reduce as capacity builds. If range is still short after five cycles, check that the handset is seating fully in the base — a partial contact means incomplete charging.

The Radio Maxi Torch handset lost its pairing with the base after I replaced the battery — how do I fix it?

Some DECT cordless phones drop their pairing registration when the handset power is fully removed, which happens during a battery swap. The phone loses the stored link key when the cell is out. Re-pair the handset to the base using the registration button on the base station — typically hold it for three to five seconds until the base LED flashes, then confirm on the handset. Consult the Torch manual for the exact button sequence if the base doesn't respond.

The new battery drains completely overnight even though the handset is sitting in the base — what's wrong?

This points to a seating or contact issue, not a faulty cell. If the handset isn't fully clicked into the base cradle, the charging contacts don't close the circuit and the handset runs on battery in standby all night. Remove the handset, wipe the charge contacts on both the handset and base with a dry cloth, then re-seat the handset until you feel it click. Check the base charge indicator light confirms active charging before leaving it overnight.
