Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Redmi K50 Gaming Edition — 7.74V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BP48)
This is a 7.74V, 2300mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition (K50G), including the K50G Mercedes-AMG Petronas variant. Part number BP48. It replaces an original cell that has degraded through repeated charge cycles or can no longer sustain load under normal use.
- K50G and K50G Mercedes-AMG Petronas fit: Both variants share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — BP48 covers the full K50G lineup without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran BP48 through charge and discharge on K50G hardware. The BMS accepted the cell, reported state-of-charge correctly after one full cycle, and thermal readings stayed within normal range across the charge window.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter to the new cell's discharge curve before high-current fast charging is introduced into an uncalibrated system.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the K50G after a cell swap
This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity fault. The K50G's processor and display draw enough current under load that a new cell — before the fuel gauge IC has recalibrated — can drop below the BMS cutoff threshold while the OS still shows charge remaining. The fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the old cell's internal resistance curve. Until one full discharge-charge cycle is complete at standard rate, the reported percentage and the actual cell voltage diverge under high-draw conditions. Run that first cycle with the screen at moderate brightness and background apps closed to give the coulomb counter a clean baseline.
USB-PD fast charge not activating on the first cycle after replacement
After a cell swap, the charge IC on the K50G may not handshake with the fast charge protocol on the first plug-in. This happens because the BMS enters a conservative charge mode when it sees an unfamiliar cell state — it defaults to standard current until it completes an initialisation pass. Plug into a standard 5V charger for the first full charge cycle rather than the fast charger. After that cycle, fast charging should negotiate normally on subsequent connections.

Frequently Asked Questions
My K50G shuts off at around 25% after I put in the new battery — is the battery faulty?
It is not a faulty cell. The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, so the voltage reading and the real cell voltage diverge under screen or modem load — the BMS cuts out before the displayed percentage hits zero. Run one full discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% at standard rate with fast charging disabled. After that cycle, the coulomb counter recalibrates and the shutdowns stop.
The Redmi K50G feels warm near the bottom of the phone while charging the new battery — is that normal?
A new Li-Polymer cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a cell that has been through several cycles. The charge IC pushes current into that higher resistance on the first few charges, which generates more heat than you would see on a broken-in cell. It settles after three to five charge cycles. If the phone is hot enough to be uncomfortable to hold, switch to a lower-wattage charger for the first cycle and check that no case or surface is trapping heat against the back.
The battery percentage on my K50G jumps around erratically — it was at 60%, then jumped to 45% in two minutes without heavy use.
Erratic percentage jumps after a cell swap point to the fuel gauge IC recalibrating its internal model against the new cell. The IC uses a stored discharge profile from the old cell, and the mismatch causes the coulomb counter to correct itself in visible steps. Do one full uninterrupted discharge to shutdown followed by a full charge to 100% at standard rate — no fast charging, no interruptions. After that cycle the IC locks onto the new cell's curve and the percentage readout stabilises.
