Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sagem MYX-8 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (XX-8944)
This 3.7V, 1000mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Sagem MYX-8 and MYX8 mobile phone. It matches the OEM part number XX-8944 and fits the original battery bay without modification. Capacity figure is taken directly from product data at 3.7Wh.
- MYX-8 and MYX8 compatibility: Both model designations use the same battery bay dimensions — 53.90 x 33.70 x 5.50mm — and the same 3.7V single-cell voltage rail. One cell covers both variants because the connector pinout and BMS handshake requirements are identical across the two SKUs.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the MYX-8 platform. The BMS accepted the charge IC handshake without fault flags, and cell voltage held stable across the full charge curve from 3.0V to 4.2V.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first install: On first use, disable fast charging if available and run one complete discharge down to automatic cutoff, then charge to 100% uninterrupted. This gives the fuel gauge IC a clean reference curve against the new cell before it starts tracking coulombs under load.
Why the MYX-8 reports the wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The MYX-8 fuel gauge IC stores a discharge curve calibrated to the original cell. When a new cell goes in, that stored curve no longer matches the actual charge state of the replacement. The gauge reads voltage and compares it against the old map, so it reports figures that are often 10–20% off. One full uninterrupted discharge-charge cycle overwrites the reference and brings percentage reporting back into alignment.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% remaining on the MYX-8
This happens when the cell voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold under load — typically during a screen-on burst or a network search spike — even though the reported percentage still looks healthy. The fuel gauge is reading an uncalibrated curve and misjudging remaining capacity. The cell voltage at cutoff is usually around 3.2–3.3V under that transient load, which the BMS correctly reads as empty. Run one full calibration cycle first; if shutdowns continue after that, check that the battery contacts in the bay are clean and making full contact.

Frequently Asked Questions
The MYX-8 won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for months — is the cell dead?
Probably not dead, but the BMS has tripped into lockout after self-discharge pulled cell voltage below 2.5V. Connect the phone to a charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button — the charge IC needs to trickle current into the cell first before the BMS will re-enable normal operation. If the charge LED doesn't show any activity after 30 minutes, try a different cable and confirm the charger output is at least 5V 500mA. Once cell voltage climbs back above 3.0V, the BMS unlocks and the phone boots normally.
The MYX-8 feels warm near the battery compartment during the first few charges — is something wrong?
Mild warmth on the first one or two charge cycles is expected. A new high-impedance cell sees more resistive heating until the electrolyte settles and internal resistance drops after a couple of full cycles. If the phone is hot to the touch or the charge stops and restarts repeatedly, that points to a charge IC fault — check that the battery is seated flat with no gap at the contacts. Normal first-cycle warmth stays below the point where it's uncomfortable to hold, and it reduces noticeably by the third full charge.
The battery percentage on the MYX-8 jumps around erratically — 45% one minute, 61% the next — after installing this cell.
That's the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against a new cell it hasn't mapped yet. The coulomb counter is stitching together incomplete data and producing unstable readings as a result. Run one full uninterrupted cycle — discharge until the phone shuts itself off, then charge straight to 100% without unplugging — and the gauge will lock onto the new cell's discharge curve. After that single cycle, percentage reporting should stabilise to within a few percent of actual charge state.
