Fits Samsung 900X4B-A02 ultrabook; replaces OEM part number AA-PBXN8AR.
7.4V, 8400mAh lithium-polymer delivers 62.16Wh — sustains CPU and display load without mid-cycle shutdowns.
Connector seats flat into the battery slot with a single locking tab on the left edge.
We ran full discharge cycles on a 900X4B-A02 — BMS voltage curve held steady through 80% capacity, no early cutoff.
After installation, run one full discharge to hibernation cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears inaccurate health warnings that appear after every cell swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung 900X4B / 900X4C Series — 7.4V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (AA-PBXN8AR)

This is a 7.4V, 8400mAh (62.16Wh) lithium-polymer replacement for the Samsung Series 9 ultrabook battery AA-PBXN8AR. It fits the 900X4B-A02, 900X4B-A02US, 900X4B-A03, 900X4C-A04DE, and over 67 additional Series 9 variants. The slim 6.80mm profile matches the original cell geometry for a flush fit inside the chassis.

  • Series 9 ultrabook compatibility: All listed 900X4B and 900X4C models share the same 7.4V two-cell Li-Polymer architecture, the AA-PBXN8AR connector pinout, and the same BMS handshake protocol — which is why one cell covers the full variant range.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on a 900X4B chassis. The BMS negotiated correctly, the fuel gauge IC registered the full 62.16Wh capacity, and charge termination triggered cleanly at cutoff voltage.
  • Post-install calibration on Series 9: After fitting this cell, run one full discharge until the laptop hibernates at low-battery cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears on the first boot after every cell swap.

BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after fitting a new cell

The Series 9 BIOS stores cycle count and health data in the outgoing cell's EEPROM. When a new cell arrives with a fresh EEPROM, the BIOS reads the data mismatch and flags the battery as unknown or degraded — even though the cell is new. This is not a fault with the replacement. Running one full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% completes the BIOS learn cycle and updates the health register. After two to three full cycles, the reported health figure normalises.

Laptop shutting down abruptly at 20–30% charge shown on screen

This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's actual voltage curve. The percentage shown on screen is derived from the old cell's curve, so the displayed value and the real state of charge drift apart — the laptop cuts out before the gauge reaches zero. The fix is two to three full discharge-to-hibernate and full-charge cycles, which lets the fuel gauge IC re-map the new cell's voltage profile. After calibration, the percentage reading tracks the real charge state and the early shutdowns stop.

Frequently Asked Questions

Samsung BIOS says "Replace Battery" on first boot after installing the new AA-PBXN8AR — is the cell faulty?

No. The Series 9 BIOS reads health data from the outgoing cell's EEPROM and flags a mismatch when a new cell with a blank EEPROM is fitted. Discharge fully to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. That single learn cycle clears the warning on most 900X4B units.

The battery percentage jumps around wildly — showing 60%, then 35%, then 55% within minutes of unplugging. What causes this?

The fuel gauge IC is still mapped to the old cell's voltage discharge curve. It takes two to three full discharge-to-hibernate and uninterrupted full-charge cycles before the IC re-calibrates against the new cell's actual chemistry. Do not rely on the percentage reading during those first cycles — let the laptop hibernate on its own rather than manually shutting down at a set percentage.

System info shows this battery as 57Wh but the cell should be 62.16Wh — why is there a discrepancy?

The Wh figure shown in Windows or Samsung's battery info panel is pulled from the EEPROM rated value stored on the cell, which may differ slightly from the actual measured capacity. After the BIOS learn cycle completes — one full discharge to hibernate, one full charge to 100% — the reported Wh figure updates to reflect the calibrated cell data. If it still reads low after three full cycles, check that the BIOS is not running a capped-charge firmware setting.
