Fits Samsung Digimax i6 PMP, L50, L60, L70 camera bodies; replaces OEM SLB-0837 battery.
3.7V lithium-ion cell delivers 820mAh capacity for standard shooting cycles on Samsung compacts.
Connector slides straight into camera battery door; no adapter or modification needed.
We bench-tested this cell in a Digimax L60 — BMS accepted the pack on first insertion and showed accurate charge status throughout discharge.
On first use, run one full charge cycle inside the camera body before heavy shooting; Samsung's battery meter recalibrates to the new cell's discharge curve during that cycle.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung Digimax i6 PMP / L50 / L60 / L70 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (SLB-0837)

This is a 3.7V, 820mAh Li-ion replacement cell for the Samsung Digimax i6 PMP and related Digimax compact camera bodies. It matches the OEM SLB-0837 and SB-L0837 part numbers and fits the slim 40.12 × 35.80 × 6.20mm battery bay. The 3.03Wh energy rating is identical to the original specification.

  • Digimax L-series and i6 PMP shared platform: The Digimax i6, L50, L60, L70, and related bodies use the same SLB-0837 footprint and voltage rail. The connector orientation, cell dimensions, and BMS communication protocol are consistent across the range, so one cell services the entire group.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the Digimax body charger circuit and monitored the BMS handshake on first insertion. The protection circuit engaged correctly at low-voltage cutoff and accepted the charge signal without error flags on the camera display.
  • First-use charge cycle in the camera body: Insert the new cell and run one full charge cycle through the OEM charger or camera body before shooting. Some Digimax BMS builds only map the battery-remaining indicator accurately after the first in-body charge cycle completes — skipping this step causes the indicator to read erratically from the start.

Flash recycling lag on a new SLB-0837 cell

The Digimax flash capacitor draws a sharp recharge current spike between shots. A new cell that has not completed its first full charge cycle may show a measurable voltage sag during that spike, causing the camera to delay the ready indicator by a half-second or more. This is not a fault in the cell — it is a break-in behaviour. After two or three full charge and discharge cycles, internal resistance stabilises and recycling lag disappears.

Battery percentage jumping erratically on the Digimax display

The Digimax indicator maps battery percentage to a voltage-threshold table calibrated on the OEM cell's discharge curve. A replacement cell discharged from full for the first time may not match that curve exactly, so the indicator can jump — say, from 80% to 40% — without a corresponding drop in actual capacity. Run the cell down to cutoff once and recharge fully inside the camera body. The BMS re-maps the thresholds on that first full cycle, and the display stabilises to 3.7V nominal from that point forward.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Digimax shows "no battery" or won't power on at all with the new SLB-0837 installed — what's happening?

The Digimax BMS runs an authentication check on first insertion, and a cell that shipped partially discharged can fail that check if terminal voltage has dipped below the camera's acceptance threshold. Remove the battery, insert it into the OEM charger for 15 minutes, then reinsert into the camera body. That partial top-up brings the cell above the minimum recognition voltage — typically 3.0V — and the camera accepts it on the next power cycle.

Shot count feels significantly lower than what I was getting with the original battery — is the cell undersized?

Shot count drops when flash, continuous autofocus, or video recording run simultaneously, since each adds draw well beyond the baseline spec. The 820mAh rating reflects static discharge capacity, not a shot count guarantee under mixed load. To get closer to the rated figure, shoot with flash only when necessary and let the camera sleep between bursts rather than holding the shutter half-pressed — that cuts continuous AF current substantially.

The camera body gets noticeably warm during video clips — is that a battery problem or a camera problem?

Heat during video comes from the combined draw of the image sensor, processor, and any stabilisation system running at once — not from a fault in the cell itself. The SLB-0837's 3.03Wh capacity is the same as the original, so thermal behaviour should match the OEM battery. If the body runs hotter than it did with the original cell, check that the battery contacts on both the cell and the bay are clean and making full contact — a resistive connection at the terminal generates heat independent of cell chemistry.
