Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung Galaxy A5 2016 Duos — 3.85V Li-ion Replacement Battery (EB-BA510ABE)
This 3.85V, 2900mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original EB-BA510ABE cell in the Samsung Galaxy A5 2016 Duos and related SM-A510 variants. It fits SM-A510F, SM-A510F/DS, SM-A510Y/DS, and additional SM-A510 configurations. Drop capacity is matched to the factory spec so the phone's charge IC does not reject the cell on first boot.
- SM-A510 series fit: All SM-A510 variants share the same 3.85V nominal rail, the same connector pinout, and the same BMS handshake protocol. One cell covers the full lineup without firmware or hardware modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on an SM-A510F. The BMS accepted the cell without a low-voltage lockout error, and the charge IC stepped through trickle, CC, and CV phases cleanly on the first cycle.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC build an accurate discharge curve for the new cell before Samsung's adaptive fast charge pushes higher current into an uncalibrated coulomb counter.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This is a voltage cliff failure, not a capacity problem. Under peak modem load or screen brightness, the cell voltage drops faster than the fuel gauge IC expects, and the phone shuts off before the displayed percentage reaches zero. The fuel gauge is still referencing the discharge curve of the old, degraded cell. One full discharge-charge cycle with fast charging disabled re-maps the curve to the new cell, and the shutdowns stop.
Phone won't power on after the battery sat in storage
If the cell voltage drops below approximately 2.5V during storage, the BMS enters a protective lockout and blocks normal boot. The phone will not respond to the power button and may show no charging indicator at first. Connect the phone to a wall adapter — not a PC port — and leave it for 15–20 minutes without pressing anything. The charge IC delivers a trickle current that brings the cell back above the BMS re-enable threshold, typically around 3.0V, at which point charging resumes normally and the phone will power on.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Galaxy A5 shows the wrong battery percentage after I put in this replacement — it jumped from 45% straight to 90% while charging. What's happening?
The fuel gauge IC is still running the discharge model it built for your old, degraded cell. A new cell has a different impedance profile, so the coulomb counter reports inaccurate state-of-charge until it recalibrates. Run one complete discharge down to auto-shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% with fast charging turned off. After that single cycle the fuel gauge re-maps to the new cell curve and percentage readings stabilise.
Samsung's adaptive fast charge worked fine with my original battery but now the phone just trickle-charges after the swap — why won't fast charge kick in?
On the first cycle after a cell replacement, the charge IC defaults to standard charging until it confirms the new BMS responds correctly to the fast charge handshake. This is a protective fallback, not a fault. Complete one full charge at standard speed, disconnect, then reconnect — adaptive fast charge will re-negotiate on the second session once the IC has logged a clean cycle from the new cell.
The phone feels warm near the back during the first few charges with this battery — is that normal?
A new cell starts with slightly higher internal impedance than a worn-in cell, so the charge IC dissipates a little more energy as heat during the initial CC phase. This is normal and settles after three to five charge cycles as impedance drops. If the phone is warm to the point of discomfort or the heat persists beyond the fifth cycle, check that the rear cover is seated flat — a gap traps heat. Normal charging warmth should stay well below 40°C at the back surface.
