Fits Samsung Galaxy Grand 3, Galaxy Grand 3 Duos, and SM-G720 variants; replaces EB-BG720CBC and EB-BG720CBK.
3.7V lithium-ion cell rated 2200mAh supplies power for calls, messaging, and apps on the Grand 3 platform.
Connector slides into the standard Galaxy Grand 3 battery slot with no locking tab; orientation marked on device.
We charged this cell in a Grand 3 test unit and observed clean voltage ramp with no BMS faults during acceptance.
On first use, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against the new cell curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung Galaxy Grand 3 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (EB-BG720CBC)

This is a 3.7V, 2200mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Samsung Galaxy Grand 3 and Grand 3 Duos smartphones. It fits SM-G720AX, SM-G7200, and related SM-G720 variants. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds a charge or causes unexpected shutdowns.

  • SM-G720 series fitment: The Grand 3 and Grand 3 Duos share the same battery bay geometry, connector pin-out, and BMS handshake requirements. Both single-SIM and Duos variants draw from the same 3.7V rail, so one cell covers the full SM-G720 lineup without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on SM-G7200 hardware. The BMS accepted the charge IC handshake on the first cycle, voltage held steady across screen-on and modem-active load states, and cutoff triggers fired within spec at both ends of the curve.
  • First-cycle fuel gauge recalibration: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard current. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve before high-current charging is applied to an uncalibrated cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

The Grand 3's fuel gauge IC holds a discharge curve calibrated to the original cell. A new cell with a slightly different internal resistance profile hits a voltage cliff earlier under modem or display load than the IC expects. The phone reads 25% remaining but the cell voltage has already dropped below the safe-operation threshold. One full discharge-to-shutoff followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% resets the coulomb counter and brings the percentage reading back into alignment with actual cell state.

Device not powering on after the battery sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage. If this battery was stored discharged for an extended period, the cell voltage may have fallen below 2.5V — the threshold at which the BMS latches into lockout to prevent damage. The phone will show no response to the power button and may not register on a charger immediately. Connect to a wall charger at 5V and leave it for 20–30 minutes; the charge IC will trickle current into the cell until the BMS re-initialises above 2.8V, after which normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Grand 3 shows the wrong battery percentage after putting in a new battery — is the phone broken?

The phone is not broken. The fuel gauge IC on the SM-G720 stores a discharge curve calibrated to the original cell, and a new cell with different internal resistance throws that calibration off immediately. Run one full discharge — let the phone shut itself off — then charge uninterrupted to 100% without fast charging enabled. After that single cycle the coulomb counter re-maps to the new cell and the percentage reading stabilises.

Fast charging stopped working the first time I charged the replacement battery — what happened?

On the first charge cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC on the Grand 3 can fail to negotiate the higher-current protocol because it has not yet confirmed the new BMS is within its expected impedance window. Charge once at standard speed using a basic 5V adapter, let it complete fully, then reconnect with your fast charger. The protocol handshake succeeds reliably from the second cycle onward.

The phone feels warm near the battery while charging — is that normal with a new cell?

A new cell typically has slightly higher internal impedance than a cell that has been through several charge cycles. Higher impedance means more energy is lost as heat during charging, so warmth near the battery compartment on the first few charges is expected. It should reduce noticeably after three to five full charge cycles as the cell's impedance settles. If the phone becomes hot to the touch or charging current drops to a trickle, check that the charger output is not exceeding 5V/2A for standard charging.
