Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung SMX-C14 / SMX-C20 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (IA-BH130LB)
This is a 3.7V, 1300mAh (4.81Wh) lithium-ion battery built to the IA-BH130LB specification. It fits the Samsung SMX-C14, SMX-C10, SMX-C20, and SMX-C24 compact camcorders, along with over 34 additional SMX-series models. Voltage and connector pinout match the OEM part exactly.
- SMX-C and SMX-F series compatibility: These Samsung compact camcorders share the same 3.7V single-cell architecture, battery bay dimensions, and three-pin contact layout. One cell covers the full range — no adapters, no modified connectors.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the SMX-C20 body. The BMS handshake completed on first insertion. Charge acceptance via the OEM cradle charger was normal, and the battery-remaining indicator tracked consistently through the discharge curve.
- First charge protocol on SMX-series bodies: Charge this battery through the original Samsung cradle charger or directly in the camera body before your first recording session. Some SMX bodies calibrate the fuel gauge against charge current from within the body — skipping this step can cause the indicator to display erratic percentages during early cycles.
Battery percentage jumping erratically on the SMX-C14 display
The SMX-C14 maps battery percentage to a fixed voltage-threshold table tuned to the original cell's discharge curve. A new replacement cell — even a correctly specced one — has a slightly steeper voltage slope early in its life, which causes the indicator to skip levels or read low. This is not a cell fault. After two to three full charge and discharge cycles, the indicator settles and tracks accurately. If it persists past three cycles, check that the first charge was done in-body or via the OEM cradle at 4.2V termination.
SMX camcorder shows dead battery icon immediately after inserting a charged cell
This happens when the BMS in the camera body fails to complete its authentication handshake on cold insertion — typically because the cell voltage sits just below the body's wake threshold after shipping or storage. The fix is to place the battery in the OEM cradle charger for at least 15 minutes before inserting it into the body. The cradle charges without a handshake requirement, bringing the cell to approximately 3.9V, which is above the SMX body's minimum detection threshold. After that, the body recognises and accepts the cell normally.

Frequently Asked Questions
My SMX-C14 shows a dead battery icon the moment I put in the new battery — is the cell dead?
It is not dead. The SMX-C14 body needs the cell to be above roughly 3.9V before it will register a valid battery. Replacement cells sometimes ship below that threshold after storage. Put the battery in the OEM cradle charger for 15 minutes first, then insert it into the camera — the icon clears and the body accepts it normally.
The battery percentage on my SMX-C20 keeps jumping around — it went from 80% to 40% in seconds without recording anything.
The SMX body reads percentage by mapping cell voltage against a threshold table calibrated to the original battery's discharge curve. A new cell discharges with a slightly different voltage slope, so the indicator skips levels early in its life. Run two to three full charge-and-discharge cycles through the camera body or OEM cradle, and the display stabilises. If it still jumps after three cycles, verify the charger is terminating at 4.2V.
My recorded clips are cutting out near the end of a session even though the battery indicator still shows charge remaining.
Under sustained video recording, the SMX-C series draws on the sensor, processor, and image stabilisation simultaneously — peak draw is higher than what the indicator accounts for. When the cell voltage sags under that combined load, the body shuts down the recording circuit before the indicator reaches zero. Keep the battery above 30% indicated charge for continuous recording sessions, and avoid recording in temperatures below 10°C, where voltage sag under load is more pronounced.
