Fits Samsung SPH-A310 smartphone; replaces OEM part AB-A3108RA battery.
3.7V, 750mAh Li-ion cell restores full-charge capacity to aging SPH-A310 units.
Connector slides into original battery slot with single locking tab orientation.
We bench-tested on SPH-A310 hardware; BMS accepted first-cycle charge without fault codes.
On first insertion, let the phone complete one full discharge-charge cycle before heavy use so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against this cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung SPH-A310 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (AB-A3108RA)

This is the AB-A3108RA Li-ion cell for the Samsung SPH-A310 mobile phone. It runs at 3.7V with 750mAh (2.78Wh) capacity — matching the original specification. If the SPH-A310 no longer holds a charge or dies unexpectedly, this cell replaces the degraded original.

  • SPH-A310 fitment: The AB-A3108RA uses the same physical footprint (60 x 45 x 6.80mm), connector pinout, and BMS handshake as the factory cell. The charge IC in the SPH-A310 communicates with the battery's protection circuit — a mismatch here stops charging entirely. This cell matches that protocol.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench, confirming the BMS protection circuit engages correctly at low-voltage cutoff and that the charge IC accepts the cell without throwing a fault state.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable any fast-charge mode and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle. The SPH-A310's fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve — one complete cycle against the new cell resets that baseline before high-current charging is applied to an uncalibrated cell.

Why the SPH-A310 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The SPH-A310 uses a fuel gauge IC that tracks capacity by measuring voltage against a stored discharge curve from the original cell. When a new cell goes in, that stored curve no longer matches the actual cell chemistry — so the reported percentage drifts. The gauge may show 50% while the real state of charge is much lower, or it may jump several percentage points at once. One complete discharge down to auto-shutoff followed by a full charge corrects the calibration. After that cycle, percentage readings stabilise.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens when the cell voltage drops sharply under load — called a voltage cliff — before the fuel gauge reaches 0%. The SPH-A310's modem and display draw current in bursts; a new cell that hasn't been calibrated will hit the BMS low-voltage cutoff (around 3.0V per cell) while the gauge still reads significant charge remaining. The fix is completing the recalibration cycle described above. If shutdowns persist after two full cycles, check that the battery connector is fully seated — a loose pin increases resistance and accelerates voltage sag under load.

Frequently Asked Questions

The SPH-A310 powers on fine but shuts off suddenly when I'm mid-call — the battery still shows charge. What's happening?

This is a voltage cliff failure. Under the load of the modem transmitting, the cell voltage collapses faster than the fuel gauge tracks it, and the BMS cuts power at its low-voltage threshold — around 3.0V — while the display still shows remaining percentage. Run one full discharge-to-shutoff followed by a complete charge to recalibrate the fuel gauge IC against the new cell's discharge curve. If it still shuts down after two recalibration cycles, reseat the battery connector to rule out contact resistance driving extra voltage sag.

My SPH-A310 won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in storage for a few months. Is the battery dead?

Most likely the cell discharged below the BMS lockout threshold — typically 2.5V per cell — and the protection circuit has cut all output to prevent damage. Connect the phone to a charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without attempting to power it on. The charge IC needs to trickle current into the cell to bring it above the BMS recovery threshold before the phone will respond. If the charging indicator appears and then the phone powers on normally, the cell has recovered — run a full charge cycle before normal use.

After fitting the new AB-A3108RA, the battery percentage jumps around erratically — it'll read 60%, then jump to 40%, then back up. Is the battery faulty?

This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating. The SPH-A310's coulomb counter was tuned to the old cell's impedance and discharge curve — the new cell presents different characteristics, so the gauge oscillates while it tries to resolve the mismatch. It is not a fault in the cell itself. Discharge the phone fully until it shuts itself off, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without removing the charger early. One complete cycle gives the fuel gauge IC enough data to lock onto the new cell's curve and stabilise the readout.
