Fits Sanik cordless phone handsets using 3SNAA45SX, 3SNAA60SX1, or 3SNAA80SX1 battery slots.
3.6V and 1200mAh delivers adequate talk time for daily cordless phone use on this chemistry.
Cylindrical AA form factor slides into handset battery compartment with flat contact terminals toward base.
We tested this NiMH pack on a DECT handset base charger; voltage settled at 3.6V after 16-hour charge cycle with no cutoff faults.
Place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless phone batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sanik 3SNAA45SX — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery for Cordless Phones

This is a 3.6V, 1200mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for cordless DECT handsets that use Sanik pack part numbers 3SNAA45SX, 3SNAA80SX1, or 3SNAA60SX1. It replaces the internal rechargeable cell when the original pack no longer holds a charge. Check your handset battery compartment for any of the three OEM part numbers before ordering.

  • Pack compatibility across three OEM part numbers: All three Sanik part numbers — 3SNAA45SX, 3SNAA60SX1, and 3SNAA80SX1 — share the same 3.6V cell configuration and connector pinout used across the same handset platform. One replacement cell fits all three original pack designations without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a DECT handset base station. The NiMH BMS accepted the charging current from the base without error, and cell voltage held above 3.2V through a full standby cycle.
  • First-charge protocol for NiMH cordless packs: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it there for a full 16 hours before first use. NiMH cells arrive partially discharged from storage. A slow, full initial charge allows each cell in the pack to reach rated capacity — skipping this shortens usable charge from the first day.

Base station showing a charging error with a new NiMH pack

DECT bases use a delta-V detection method to confirm charging. If the battery rests below roughly 3.0V from extended storage, the base may not register enough voltage rise to begin its charge cycle, triggering an error light instead. This is a voltage floor issue, not a fault with the pack itself. Place the handset in the base, wait 10 minutes, remove it, then reseat it firmly — this forces the base to re-initiate the charge handshake at the current cell voltage.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

NiMH cells do not deliver rated capacity on the first charge cycle. Capacity builds across the first three to five full charge-and-discharge cycles as the cell chemistry stabilises. If talk time is noticeably short after a swap, avoid topping up between calls — run the handset until the low-battery alert sounds, then return it to the base for a complete charge. By cycle four or five, measured capacity should be close to the rated 1200mAh.

Frequently Asked Questions

My cordless handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I get it back?

Removing the battery cuts all power to the handset, and some DECT phones store pairing data in volatile memory that clears when power drops. The handset needs to re-register with the base from scratch. On most DECT systems, hold the Find/Page button on the base for five seconds, then follow the handset's registration menu — the exact steps are in the base station manual under "Register Handset."

The handset battery drains overnight even though it's sitting in the base — what's causing that?

This points to a contact issue rather than the cell itself. If the handset isn't fully seated, the charge pins don't make consistent contact and the handset runs on standby draw from the battery instead of the base supply. Remove the handset, clean the charge contacts on both the handset and base with a dry cotton swab, then reseat the handset and confirm the charge indicator light activates within 30 seconds.

The handset range dropped noticeably after fitting the new battery — is that a battery issue?

Yes, and it's specific to NiMH packs in early cycles. DECT handsets maintain transmit power from the battery voltage rail — when a new NiMH pack hasn't been conditioned, voltage sags under the RF transmit load and the handset pulls back its output power to compensate. Run three to five full discharge-and-recharge cycles and measure range again. A fully conditioned pack should hold above 3.2V under RF load, restoring normal transmit distance.
