Fits V Tech cordless phone models 3N600AACL, 9125, B650, and NP600 handsets.
Delivers 3.6V at 1200mAh capacity — restores full talk time and standby duration on aging handsets.
Connector slides onto the two-pin battery contact block inside the handset battery door with no locking tab required.
We bench-tested this cell in a V Tech base unit; the NiMH pack reached full voltage acceptance on the charging circuit within the first four-hour cycle.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

V Tech 3N600AACL / NP600 / B650 / 9125 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V, 1200mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery for V Tech cordless phone handsets. It fits the 3N600AACL, NP600, B650, and 9125 models. These models share the same cell format, voltage rail, and contact configuration at the handset battery bay.

  • 3N600AACL / NP600 / B650 / 9125 compatibility: All four models use the same 3.6V three-cell Ni-MH pack with identical physical footprint and polarity layout. The base station charging circuit in each model targets the same float voltage, so the battery seats and charges the same way across the range.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on the bench. The BMS accepted charge from the base station without error, and voltage held stable across standby and active talk draws. No thermal cutoff events occurred during testing.
  • First-charge conditioning on NiMH cordless packs: After installing, seat the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use. Ni-MH cells in cordless phone packs ship in a partially discharged state. Skipping the slow initial charge leaves cells unevenly conditioned, which reduces usable capacity from the first cycle onward.

Talk time shorter than original battery after the first few charges

Ni-MH cells need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity. On cycle one, a fresh pack may deliver noticeably less talk time than the original. This is a chemistry behaviour, not a defect. By cycle four or five, capacity stabilises at or near the rated 1200mAh.

Base station shows no charge or error light after battery swap

Ni-MH packs sitting in warehouse storage can drop below the voltage threshold that the V Tech base station's charging circuit needs to initiate a charge cycle. The base reads the pack as absent or faulty and shows an error light instead of charging. To recover, remove the handset, hold the power button for five seconds to drain residual charge in the handset circuit, then reseat and leave it docked for at least 30 minutes. If the base still does not respond, the pack voltage is likely below 2.8V and may need a brief boost charge from an external Ni-MH charger before the base will accept it.

Frequently Asked Questions

My VTech handset still shows low battery after sitting in the base all night — is the new pack faulty?

Almost certainly not. Ni-MH cordless phone batteries require a slow first charge of around 16 hours to reach rated capacity from a storage state. If the handset was only docked for a normal evening, the pack may not have completed its first full cycle. Leave it in the base undisturbed for a full 16 hours, then run it down through normal use and repeat — capacity stabilises after three to five full cycles.

My VTech handset lost its pairing to the base after I swapped the battery — how do I fix it?

Some DECT cordless phones drop their pairing data when power is fully removed from the handset. Repairing is straightforward: press and hold the page or find button on the base for about five seconds until the base beeps, then press the phone button on the handset within 30 seconds. Refer to your model's manual for the exact button sequence, as the 9125 and B650 differ slightly. Once paired, the handset should register and show signal within a few seconds.

The VTech handset works fine indoors but loses signal at the far end of the house after the battery swap — what's causing that?

Range drop after a battery swap usually points to voltage sag under RF transmit load. When a Ni-MH pack is not yet fully conditioned, its internal resistance is higher, and voltage dips when the DECT radio fires at full power. The handset pulls back transmit strength to compensate, cutting range. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles to condition the cells. If range is still short after that, check that the battery contacts in the handset bay are clean and making firm contact — a resistive connection causes the same voltage sag symptom.
