Fits Satmap Active 10 and Active 12 GPS navigators; replaces OEM battery part numbers 1S2PE583759-02X and ACT10-BAT-00146.
This cell runs 3.7V at 2700mAh capacity, which sustains extended field navigation sessions on the Active 10 without mid-route power loss.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with a single locking tab; orient the contacts toward the device's spring contacts and push until the tab seats fully.
We bench-tested this 3.7V Li-Polymer cell in an Active 10 unit; the BMS accepted the pack on first insertion with no fault code or delayed startup.
After fitting this cell, power the GPS fully on outdoors and allow it to acquire a satellite fix before navigation — the device performs a cold start after power interruption that takes 5–10 minutes for first fix versus under a minute for warm starts thereafter.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Satmap Active 10 / Active 12 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (1S2PE583759-02X)

This is a 3.7V 2700mAh Li-Polymer cell for the Satmap Active 10 and Active 12 handheld GPS navigators. It replaces OEM parts 1S2PE583759-02X and ACT10-BAT-00146. Fit the battery when the original cell no longer holds charge or the device shuts off unexpectedly during field use.

  • Active 10 and Active 12 compatibility: Both units share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell covers both platforms without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge cycles on the Active 10, monitoring BMS cutoff behaviour at low-voltage threshold and verifying the protection circuit trips correctly before cell damage occurs.
  • Cold-start behaviour after fitting: After installing this cell, power the device on outdoors and let it acquire a satellite fix before relying on it for navigation. GPS units perform a full cold start after any complete power interruption — first fix can take 5–10 minutes; subsequent warm starts drop to under a minute.

Why the Active 10 shuts off without showing a low-battery warning

The Active 10 reads remaining charge from a voltage curve stored against the original cell's discharge profile. When the cell ages, its internal resistance rises and terminal voltage drops faster under GPS-receiver load than the firmware expects. The device hits its hardware cutoff threshold — typically around 3.0V — before the on-screen battery indicator reaches one bar. Fitting a new cell resets this discrepancy; the voltage curve and the indicator align again after a few full charge and discharge cycles.

GPS accuracy drops noticeably when battery is below half charge

Some GPS receivers reduce RF front-end sensitivity when supply voltage sags below a set point — a power-saving measure that also cuts signal margin. On the Active 10, this can appear as position drift or loss of fix in areas with partial sky coverage. The symptom is not a firmware fault or antenna damage. Keeping the cell above 3.6V under load resolves it; charge before long off-grid legs rather than relying on the remaining capacity indicator alone.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Satmap Active 10 lost all my saved routes after I swapped the battery — is that normal?

Yes, and it happens because some route and POI data on the Active 10 is held in battery-backed RAM. When the cell is fully removed, that volatile memory loses power and clears. Export routes to your PC via Satmap's desktop software before pulling the battery — anything stored on the internal SD card or synced externally will survive the swap intact.

The Active 10 is taking 8–10 minutes to get a GPS fix after fitting the new battery — something wrong?

Nothing is wrong. A full power interruption wipes the ephemeris data the receiver uses to locate satellites quickly. Without that cached data, the unit runs a cold start and must download fresh satellite almanac data from scratch, which takes 5–10 minutes outdoors with clear sky view. Once the first fix completes, subsequent power cycles restore the cache and lock drops back to under a minute.

My Active 10 drains the battery much faster when I'm actively navigating versus leaving it on standby — why?

Active navigation runs the GPS receiver at full poll rate and keeps the display lit, which pulls significantly more current than standby. The receiver alone accounts for the majority of the draw; backlight adds to it. Reduce screen brightness and set the display timeout to the shortest usable interval to extend field operation between charges. If drain still seems excessive, check that track recording is not set to a very high frequency interval, as continuous logging adds constant receiver-on time.
