Fits Asus R600 GPS navigator; replaces OEM battery part number SBP-13 and 07G016UN1865.
3.7V 2600mAh cell delivers full capacity for extended navigation sessions without frequent recharging cycles.
Connector slides into the R600 battery slot with a positive terminal contact and retention clip lock.
We bench-tested this cell in an R600 unit; the BMS accepted the charge cycle without fault codes and held voltage stable through active GPS operation.
After fitting this cell, power the GPS fully on outdoors and allow it to acquire a satellite fix before relying on navigation — GPS performs a cold start after power interruption that takes 5–10 minutes for first fix versus under a minute for warm starts.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Asus R600 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (SBP-13)

This is a 3.7V 2600mAh Li-ion cell built to the same spec as the original SBP-13 battery inside the Asus R600 portable GPS navigator. It fits the R600 directly — same connector, same form factor, same voltage rail. Capacity figure is 2600mAh (9.62Wh), taken from the product data, not estimated.

  • R600 platform fit: The R600 uses a single-cell 3.7V Li-ion pack with a dedicated BMS that monitors cell voltage and temperature. This replacement matches that voltage rail and connector pinout so the BMS handshake completes correctly on first boot.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench with the BMS active. The protection circuit tripped at the correct low-voltage cutoff and the charge controller accepted a full charge cycle without fault flags.
  • Cold-start satellite acquisition after power interruption: After fitting this battery, power the R600 on outdoors and let it run until it acquires a satellite fix before driving. A full cold start — which occurs any time the unit loses all power — takes 5–10 minutes for first fix. Subsequent warm starts return to under a minute once ephemeris data is cached.

GPS accuracy reduced at low battery on the R600

Some GPS units, including portable navigators in this class, throttle receiver sensitivity as cell voltage drops toward the cutoff threshold. On the R600, this can show up as position drift or a weaker satellite signal count before the unit shuts off. The receiver draws significant current during active navigation, and a weakened or aged cell sags in voltage under that load. Replacing the cell with a fresh 3.7V unit at full charge restores the receiver to full operating voltage.

R600 shuts off without warning during navigation

This happens when the battery indicator is no longer calibrated to the actual cell capacity — the unit shows bars remaining but the cell voltage has already dropped below the BMS cutoff. It is common with aged or partially degraded Li-ion cells whose voltage curve no longer matches what the firmware expects. The fix is a full charge cycle on the new cell, then a complete discharge under normal navigation use so the firmware re-learns the voltage-to-capacity curve. After one full cycle, the low-battery warning should appear at the correct threshold before shutdown.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Asus R600 lost all saved routes and favourites after I swapped the battery — is that normal?

Yes. The R600 holds certain user data in RAM that requires continuous power to retain. When the cell is fully removed, that memory clears — saved routes and points of interest stored in volatile RAM are gone. Data held in flash memory, such as map files, survives the swap. Re-enter your saved locations after the first boot with the new battery fitted.

The R600 is taking 8–10 minutes to find a satellite fix after the battery swap — something wrong?

Nothing is wrong. Any GPS unit that loses all power has to perform a cold start, which means downloading fresh satellite ephemeris data from scratch. That process takes 5–10 minutes outdoors with a clear sky view. Once the unit has cached that data, subsequent warm starts drop back to under a minute. Leave the device powered on outdoors after the swap and let it complete the first fix before mounting it in the vehicle.

Active navigation drains the R600 battery much faster than just leaving it in standby — why?

Active navigation runs the GPS receiver and the display simultaneously, which are the two largest current draws in the unit. Standby cuts the display and reduces receiver polling frequency, dropping current draw significantly. At 3.7V with both active, the 2600mAh cell will deplete faster than the standby figure suggests. Reducing display brightness during navigation is the single most effective way to extend time between charges on this unit.
