Fits Shark IX140, IX141, IZ141, UZ145 stick vacuums; replaces OEM part number XFBT620.
This 21.6V 2500mAh pack delivers full motor power under sustained floor and carpet cleaning loads.
Connector slides into the battery slot with a locking tab that seats flush against the handle grip.
We bench-tested this cell on the IX140 motor under blocked-filter conditions — BMS held steady without nuisance cutoff until actual restriction was cleared.
Do not leave the vacuum on the charging dock continuously; trickle charge degrades capacity faster than removing the pack when full.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Shark IX140 / IZ141 Series — 21.6V Li-ion Replacement Battery (XFBT620)

This is a 21.6V 2500mAh lithium-ion battery pack for the Shark IX140, IX141, IZ141, UZ145, and related cordless stick vacuums. It replaces OEM part XFBT620. Capacity is rated at 54Wh — identical to the original specification.

  • IX/IZ/UZ platform compatibility: These models share the same 21.6V battery rail, connector format, and BMS handshake protocol. A replacement that passes the handshake on the IX140 will initialise correctly on the IZ141 and UZ145 without any adapter or modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack on an IX140 and an IZ141 under repeated suction cycles. The BMS held voltage within spec under sustained motor load and triggered thermal cutoff correctly when airflow was deliberately restricted — no false trips under normal use.
  • Dock charging habit on stick vacuums: Do not leave the vacuum on the charging dock continuously. Shark cordless vacuums on permanent dock charge develop capacity fade significantly faster than units charged only when depleted. Charge to full, then remove from the dock.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

This is a voltage sag issue, not always a dead battery. When the filter is partially blocked, the motor draws more current than rated to maintain suction. That extra draw pulls cell voltage down under load, which the BMS reads as a low-state event and reduces power output. The indicator reads mid-charge because it measures resting voltage — not the loaded voltage the motor actually sees. Clean or replace the foam and felt filters first, then retest under load.

Motor cuts out mid-clean and recovers after a few seconds

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a faulty battery. Restricted airflow — typically a clogged filter or blockage in the floor head — forces the motor to spike current beyond the pack's continuous discharge rating. The BMS cuts power to protect the cells, then resets once current demand drops. It will keep tripping until the restriction is cleared. Check the filter, the floor head roller, and the wand for blockages before assuming the battery is at fault.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Shark IX140 loses suction halfway through a clean but the battery light still shows full — what's causing that?

The battery indicator measures resting cell voltage, not voltage under motor load. A partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw excess current, which sags cell voltage during use and triggers a power reduction from the BMS — even though the pack looks fully charged at rest. Clean the foam and felt filters and check the floor head roller for tangled debris. Retest after clearing the restriction; suction should hold consistent through a full clean.

The motor on my IX140 cuts out for a few seconds and then starts again on its own — is the battery failing?

That behaviour is a BMS overcurrent trip, not cell failure. When airflow is restricted, the motor spikes current above the pack's rated continuous discharge limit and the BMS shuts output to protect the cells — then resets automatically once demand drops. It will keep cycling until the restriction is removed. Clear the filter, wand, and floor head of blockages, and the cutout should stop.

My replacement XFBT620 battery fades noticeably faster than the original did after only a few months — what went wrong?

Continuous dock charging is the most common cause of accelerated capacity fade on Shark stick vacuums. Leaving the pack on the dock permanently exposes the cells to sustained trickle charge, which degrades lithium-ion cells faster than standard charge cycles. Remove the battery from the dock as soon as it reaches full charge. Going forward, charge only when the pack is depleted and disconnect once full — this extends usable capacity significantly.
