Fits Shark QV410QBK and 20+ models; replaces OEM part numbers XSBT420, XSBT420AS, XSBT420EU, XSBT420UK.
14.4V and 1800mAh capacity delivers consistent motor voltage across hard floors and carpet without mid-cycle sag.
Connector slides straight into dock slot with single locking tab; orientation is keyed — no forcing required.
Bench testing showed BMS accepted full charge cycle on first insertion; motor amperage draw remained stable under sustained suction load.
Do not leave this battery on the charging dock permanently — cordless vacuums develop capacity fade significantly faster under continuous trickle charge; charge to full and remove.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Shark QV410 Series — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (XSBT420)

This is a 14.4V, 1800mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Shark QV410 series cordless stick vacuum. It fits the QV410QBK, QV410QBL, QV410QCP, QV410QGR, and more than twenty additional QV410 variants. Swap it when the original cell can no longer hold enough charge to complete a cleaning session.

  • QV410 series compatibility: All QV410 variants share the same 14.4V voltage rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. That single architecture is why one part number — XSBT420 — covers the full range without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge cycles on a QV410 dock and monitored BMS communication. The protection circuit responded correctly to full-charge cutoff and recovered cleanly from a simulated low-voltage condition without requiring a reset.
  • Dock charging habit on the QV410: The QV410 dock does not switch to a true maintenance mode after the cell reaches full charge. Leaving the vacuum on the dock permanently exposes the Li-ion cells to continuous trickle current, which accelerates capacity fade. Charge to full, then remove from the dock.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the QV410

The QV410 motor draws significantly more current when airflow is restricted — a partially clogged filter forces the motor to work harder against back-pressure. That extra draw causes the cell voltage to sag under load, which the vacuum interprets as a low-battery condition before the actual state of charge warrants it. The battery indicator is reading real-time voltage under load, not stored capacity. Clean or replace the foam and felt filters first; if the suction and indicator behaviour return to normal, the battery was not the problem.

Motor cutting out mid-clean then recovering after a few seconds

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When the QV410 motor sustains a restricted airflow condition — a blocked hose, packed filter, or deep-pile carpet with no airflow — current draw spikes past the BMS threshold and the protection circuit opens to prevent cell damage. The motor stops, the BMS resets after a few seconds, and power returns. The fix is not a new battery. Clear the blockage, check the filter, and confirm airflow is unobstructed before running the vacuum again.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Shark QV410 loses suction halfway through cleaning but the battery light still shows full — why?

A restricted filter forces the motor to pull more current than normal, which drops cell voltage under load even when stored capacity is still high. The vacuum reads that voltage sag as low power and reduces motor speed before the battery is actually depleted. Remove and clean the foam and felt filters, then retest. If suction holds across a full session after cleaning the filters, the battery is fine.

The QV410 motor cuts out for a few seconds then comes back on its own — is this a faulty battery?

That behaviour is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a battery fault. When airflow is blocked — packed filter, jammed brush roll, or a pinched hose — current draw spikes beyond the protection circuit threshold and the BMS opens the circuit briefly to protect the cells. Clear any blockage, check that the filter is clean, and confirm the brush roll spins freely. If the cut-outs stop after clearing the restriction, the battery and BMS are both working as intended.

My new replacement battery loses charge noticeably faster after a few months — what causes that?

Continuous dock charging is the most common cause of early capacity fade on the QV410. The dock does not cut to a true maintenance charge once the cell is full, so leaving the vacuum plugged in permanently applies ongoing current to the Li-ion cells. Over weeks, that degrades cell capacity faster than normal cycling would. Charge the battery to full, remove it from the dock, and only return it when the cell needs charging — that single habit significantly slows capacity loss.
