Fits RCA cordless phone models 100935, 26936GE2, 29445, and 59519 — direct replacement for OEM Ni-MH handset battery.
3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers the voltage and capacity this DECT handset requires for full RF transmission range and talk time.
Cylindrical pack slides into the battery compartment with a single locking tab — connector seats flush with no polarity risk on this platform.
We bench-tested the BMS contacts on a live 100935 base station — the pack accepted charge current immediately with no error light or acceptance delays.
After installing this cell, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless phone batteries need a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

RCA 100935 / 26936GE2 Series — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V 700mAh Ni-MH battery for RCA cordless phone handsets including the 100935, 26936GE2, 29445, and 59519. It fits the handset compartment directly and restores talk and standby capability when the original cell has degraded. Voltage and capacity match the OEM spec so the base station charges it without modification.

  • Why these models share one battery: The 100935, 26936GE2, 29445, and 59519 all run the same 3.6V single-cell NiMH architecture with an identical footprint — 50.79 × 42.40 × 14.23mm. The base station charging circuit targets the same voltage window across this handset family, so one cell covers all of them.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on NiMH-compatible test equipment. The BMS accepted charge current without tripping, and terminal voltage tracked correctly through the full discharge curve without premature cutoff.
  • First-charge protocol for NiMH cordless handsets: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before use. NiMH cordless batteries arrive partially discharged from storage and need a slow first charge to reach rated capacity — cutting this short is the single most common reason a new battery underperforms from day one.

Range dropping mid-call after a battery swap

NiMH cells that haven't completed conditioning cycles show a steeper voltage sag under RF transmit load. The DECT radio in these RCA handsets draws a short high-current burst every transmission frame, and a partially conditioned cell can't hold voltage through that spike. When voltage sags below the transmit threshold, the handset either drops range or cuts out entirely. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles and the cell's internal resistance drops enough to sustain transmit voltage.

Base station shows no-charge or error light with the new battery installed

A NiMH battery that has sat in storage will arrive at a low resting voltage — sometimes low enough that the base station's charge controller doesn't recognise it as a valid cell. The base reads the voltage, sees it outside its acceptance window, and flags an error instead of starting a charge cycle. Remove the handset, wait 30 seconds, and reseat it firmly so the contacts are fully engaged. If the error persists, the cell voltage may need a brief external boost charge to 3.2V before the base accepts it.

Frequently Asked Questions

My RCA cordless handset pairs fine but talk time is much shorter than the old battery — is the new one faulty?

Almost certainly not — this is normal NiMH behaviour for the first three to five cycles. A new NiMH cell ships at partial charge and doesn't reach rated capacity until it's been fully cycled several times. Run the handset down until the low-battery warning sounds, then return it to the base for a full charge, and repeat that at least three times. By cycle four or five, talk time should be at or close to the rated 700mAh level.

My RCA handset lost its pairing to the base after I swapped the battery — how do I get it back?

Removing the battery cuts all power to the handset, and some DECT cordless phones drop their pairing data when power is fully interrupted. This isn't a battery fault — it's how the handset firmware stores the link key. Re-register the handset using the pairing button on the base station, following the steps in your model's manual (typically hold the base page/find button for five seconds until the handset finds it). The process takes under two minutes.

The handset battery is nearly dead every morning even though I leave it in the base overnight — why isn't it charging?

Check that the handset is fully seated — these RCA cradles have small spring contacts that need firm downward pressure to connect. If the handset sits slightly forward or at an angle, standby draw runs the battery down without any charge going in. Clean the contacts on both the handset and base with a dry cloth, press the handset down until it clicks or sits flush, and confirm the charging indicator light on the base activates within 30 seconds of seating.
