Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sharp SH903i / SH902ISL — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (SH09)
This is a 3.7V, 650mAh Li-ion cell for the Sharp SH903i and SH902ISL candybar phones sold in the Japanese domestic market. It replaces the original SH09 battery when the existing cell can no longer hold charge through a normal day of use. Dimensions are 44.48 × 38.60 × 4.18mm — measure your original before ordering if you are unsure.
- SH903i and SH902ISL shared platform: Both handsets run the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol, which is why a single cell covers both models without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the SH903i platform. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, and the protection circuit responded correctly to over-discharge cutoff at the expected low-voltage threshold.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first installation, run one complete discharge to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% before normal use. The SH903i fuel gauge IC maps its percentage readings against the discharge curve it sees on that first full cycle — skipping this step causes erratic percentage jumps for days afterward.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the SH903i after a cell swap
The SH903i's processor and display draw a combined current spike during screen-on events that the fuel gauge IC cannot always predict from a freshly installed cell. If the new cell's internal impedance is slightly higher than the original, terminal voltage dips sharply under that load — the protection circuit reads it as a low-voltage condition and cuts power even though the state-of-charge counter still shows 20–30%. One full discharge-charge calibration cycle usually resolves this. If shutdowns continue past two cycles, check that the battery contacts in the bay are clean and making full contact.
Phone will not power on after the replacement battery sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage, and if the SH09 cell dropped below roughly 2.5V per cell before installation, the BMS enters a lockout state to prevent further discharge damage. The phone will show nothing when you press power — no logo, no vibration. Connect the charger and leave it for 15–20 minutes without pressing any buttons; the charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS re-enable threshold, typically around 2.9V, at which point the phone will power on normally.

Frequently Asked Questions
The SH903i shows a different battery percentage after I put in the new SH09 cell — it jumps around and doesn't match actual charge level. What causes that?
The fuel gauge IC on the SH903i is calibrated to the discharge curve of the original aged cell. A new cell has a different voltage-versus-capacity profile, so the IC's percentage readings are inaccurate until it relearns. Run one complete discharge to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without using the phone mid-cycle. After that single full cycle the fuel gauge recalibrates and percentage readings stabilise.
My SH903i feels noticeably warm near the battery during the first charge with the new cell — is something wrong?
A new high-impedance cell accepts charge less efficiently on its first cycle, so more energy converts to heat at the charge IC. This is normal on cycle one and reduces significantly after the first full charge. If the phone stays warm through subsequent charges or becomes hot to the touch, remove it from the charger and check that the battery contacts are fully seated — a partial contact forces the charge IC to work harder. Warmth that disappears after cycle two is not a fault.
The SH903i powered on fine after I installed the new battery, but now it won't turn back on after the first full discharge. How do I recover it?
If the phone discharged fully and the BMS has locked out the cell, the phone will not respond to the power button. Plug in the charger and leave it connected for at least 15 minutes without pressing any keys — the charge IC delivers a trickle current that brings the cell voltage back above the BMS re-enable threshold of approximately 2.9V. Once that threshold is crossed, the phone will power on automatically or respond normally to the power button.
