Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Silvercrest HD Camcorder SCAZ 5.00 A1 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This 3.7V, 1800mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Silvercrest HD camcorder SCAZ 5.00 A1, SCAZ 5.00 B2, and related models (67099, 75981). It matches the OEM voltage rail and physical footprint. Capacity is sourced from the product specification — 6.66Wh total energy.
- SCAZ 5.00 A1 and B2 compatibility: Both camcorder variants share the same 3.7V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. A single cell covers both because the power management circuit does not distinguish between model revisions — only voltage and cell chemistry matter.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the SCAZ 5.00 series battery circuit. The BMS accepted the replacement without error flags, held steady at 3.7V nominal under recording load, and cut off cleanly at the low-voltage threshold without forcing a hard shutdown mid-recording.
- First-use charge protocol for SCAZ 5.00 series: Charge this cell fully inside the camera body or OEM charger before your first recording session. The SCAZ BMS maps battery-remaining percentage against a known discharge curve — it needs one full charge cycle from within the camera to calibrate that readout accurately on a new cell.
Battery percentage jumping erratically on the SCAZ 5.00 display
The SCAZ 5.00 series maps its battery indicator against a fixed voltage-threshold curve stored in the camera firmware. A new Li-ion cell has a slightly different discharge profile than a worn original — the voltage steps don't always land where the camera expects them. This makes the indicator jump forward or backward by 10–20% as the cell discharges through different load states. Running one complete charge and discharge cycle inside the camera body lets the BMS re-anchor the percentage readout to the new cell's actual curve.

This happens when the replacement cell arrives at a storage charge of around 3.6–3.65V and the camera interprets that voltage as critically low based on its indicator mapping. The cell is not flat — the camera is reading a voltage point it associates with end-of-life on a degraded original battery. Place the cell in the OEM charger first and charge to full (4.2V), then insert it into the camera. The indicator will reset to a correct starting point and the false low-battery flag will clear.

Frequently Asked Questions
My SCAZ 5.00 A1 says "no battery" or won't recognise the new cell — what's happening?
The SCAZ 5.00 BMS performs a basic authentication check on first install. A replacement cell that hasn't been charged yet can read below the minimum voltage threshold the camera accepts, triggering a rejection. Remove the battery, charge it fully in the OEM charger to 4.2V, then reinsert. One power cycle after that charge is usually enough for the camera to accept the cell.
Shot count feels lower than it should — the battery drains faster during video recording than stills.
Video recording draws significantly more current than stills capture because the sensor, image processor, and LCD run continuously rather than in short bursts. The 1800mAh rating reflects total cell capacity under standard load — sustained HD recording collapses the effective runtime compared to stills-only use. This is not a cell defect. If drain still feels excessive, check whether optical stabilisation or continuous autofocus is active during recording, as both add measurable draw on top of the base recording load.
The replacement cell drains noticeably faster in cold weather — is this normal?
Li-ion chemistry loses available capacity as temperature drops — internal resistance rises and the usable voltage window narrows. At around 5°C or below, a 1800mAh cell can deliver significantly less energy before hitting the low-voltage cutoff the camera enforces. Keep the camcorder and spare battery in an inside pocket between shots when shooting outdoors in cold conditions. Warming the battery back to room temperature (around 20°C) restores most of the capacity loss.
