Fits Kyocera Contax Tvs Digital; replaces OEM BP-1500S battery pack.
3.7V 1800mAh lithium-ion cell delivers full capacity for photo and video capture cycles.
Connector slides into camera battery slot with positive terminal forward; locking tab secures flush.
We charged this pack through the camera body and verified BMS accepted the cell without authentication errors.
On first installation, run one complete charge cycle in the camera body before extended shooting — early 2000s Kyocera firmware maps battery percentage from voltage thresholds and needs a full curve sample to display accurate remaining capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Kyocera Contax Tvs Digital — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BP-1500S)

This is a 3.7V, 1800mAh Li-ion cell built to the BP-1500S specification for the Contax Tvs Digital compact camera. It fits the Tvs Digital body directly, matching the original connector and cell dimensions of 53.00 × 35.30 × 11.00mm. Voltage and capacity are matched to the original to keep the camera's battery indicator reading correctly.

  • Contax Tvs Digital compatibility: The Tvs Digital uses a single-cell 3.7V Li-ion pack with a proprietary BP-1500S form factor. The contact layout and cell dimensions must match exactly — an off-spec cell will not seat correctly in the battery compartment or close the door.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the Tvs Digital body. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, and the camera powered on and advanced through menus without resetting mid-session.
  • First-install charge cycle on the Tvs Digital: Run one full charge through the camera body or OEM charger before shooting. The Tvs Digital maps its battery-remaining display against a charge curve it learns on that first cycle — skipping it causes the indicator to drop erratically early in a session.

Why the Tvs Digital shows a dead battery indicator on a partially charged replacement cell

The Contax Tvs Digital uses voltage-threshold mapping to estimate remaining charge. A new third-party cell has a slightly different discharge curve than the original BP-1500S, so the camera can misread the state of charge at the lower thresholds. This shows up as the battery icon dropping to empty while the cell still has usable capacity. One full charge-discharge cycle from within the camera body recalibrates the threshold mapping and corrects the display.

Flash not fully recycling between shots on a new BP-1500S cell

The Tvs Digital's built-in flash pulls a sharp current spike to recharge its capacitor after each shot. At the end of a cell's discharge curve — typically below 3.5V — that recharge current sags and the capacitor takes longer to reach full charge. If the flash indicator clears but the output looks weak or inconsistent, check the battery level first. Charge the cell back to 3.7V and the recycling time returns to normal.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Contax Tvs Digital shows "no battery" when I insert the new BP-1500S — what's wrong?

The Tvs Digital runs a brief BMS handshake when a new cell is inserted, and a fresh third-party cell sometimes fails that check on first contact. Remove the battery, reinsert it firmly so both contacts are seated, then charge it fully via the OEM charger or camera body before powering on. That initial charge cycle is usually enough for the camera to accept the cell and clear the error.

The battery percentage on my Tvs Digital is jumping around — it shows 80%, then drops to 20% in a few shots.

This is a voltage-curve mismatch between the new cell and the camera's charge indicator thresholds. The Tvs Digital estimates remaining charge by reading cell voltage at fixed points, and a replacement cell's discharge curve doesn't always align with those points out of the box. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle — shoot until the camera shuts down, then charge fully to 3.7V — and the indicator will track the new cell accurately.

My shot count is much lower than I expected from an 1800mAh cell — why?

The Tvs Digital's rated shot count assumes minimal flash use, but the flash capacitor recharge alone can draw more current per shot than the sensor and processor combined. Shooting with flash on every frame, using optical zoom frequently, or reviewing shots on the LCD between frames all add to per-shot draw well beyond the base spec. Limit flash to when it's needed and reduce LCD review time, and the cell will last significantly longer per charge.
