Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Simplehuman Mirror SH1S2P — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (SH03)
This 3.7V 5200mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original SH03 cell in the Simplehuman Mirror SH1S2P. It powers the mirror's sensor activation, touch controls, and LED lighting array. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds charge after repeated cycles.
- SH1S2P compatibility: The SH1S2P runs a single-cell 3.7V architecture with a specific BMS handshake for the LED driver and proximity sensor. This cell matches that voltage rail and connector, so the mirror's control board recognises the battery and drives the LED string at full current from the first power-on.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the SH1S2P's charge and discharge cycle on the bench. The BMS accepted charge without a fault flag, the sensor activation responded normally, and the LED driver maintained stable constant-current output across the full discharge curve.
- First-use charging on the SH1S2P: Charge the mirror fully before the first use after installation. The LED driver in this mirror calibrates its constant-current output against the cell voltage on first use. A partially charged cell on first power-on can cause uneven brightness across the LED ring on that initial session.
Why the SH1S2P LEDs dim before the battery indicator shows low
The SH1S2P's LED driver operates in constant-current mode, but only down to a minimum input voltage threshold — typically around 3.4V for this class of driver. When the cell voltage sags below that threshold under load, the driver can no longer sustain full current, and the LEDs dim noticeably. The battery indicator circuit reads resting voltage, not load voltage, so it still shows partial charge while the LEDs are already pulling less light. This is a cell-condition issue: a degraded original battery sags harder under the LED load than a fresh cell at the same state of charge.
Mirror not charging via USB after battery replacement
The SH1S2P's charge circuit requires a stable 5V input to initiate charging — some lower-output USB adapters and multi-port hubs drop below 4.8V under load, which causes the charge controller to not start. If the mirror shows no charge activity after a battery swap, test with a single-port USB adapter rated at 5V/1A or higher. Also check the USB cable — a cable with high resistance will drop voltage before it reaches the mirror's charge port. Swap to a known-good cable and a dedicated wall adapter; charge should initiate within 30 seconds.

Frequently Asked Questions
My SH1S2P LEDs are flickering at what looks like a full charge — is that the new battery or the driver?
That flicker is almost always the LED driver losing regulation as cell voltage dips under the lighting load, even when the state-of-charge indicator reads high. On a new cell, it usually means the battery wasn't fully charged before first use, and the driver is seeing a lower voltage than it expects. Charge the mirror to 100% without interruption and run a full cycle — the driver stabilises its output once it has calibrated against a fully charged cell. If flickering continues after a complete charge cycle, check the USB adapter is delivering a solid 5V.
The LED ring looks uneven — one side is noticeably brighter than the other after I swapped the battery.
Uneven brightness across the LED ring points to the constant-current driver distributing unequal current across the LED string, which happens when the driver hasn't completed its calibration against the new cell. This is separate from overall dimming — it's a driver-state issue triggered by installing a new cell. Charge the mirror fully, then power it off completely and back on. That power cycle lets the driver re-read the cell voltage and reset current distribution across the string.
My SH1S2P shows a full charge but the sensor stops activating the light after a short time — what's happening?
The proximity sensor and touch controls draw power independently from the LED string, but they share the same cell. When an aged original battery is still in place, this symptom is common — the cell has enough resting voltage to show "full" but collapses under combined sensor and LED load. With the new SH03 cell installed, run a complete charge cycle before testing sensor activation. If the sensor still cuts out after a full charge on the new cell, check the USB adapter output — a weak adapter may not have fully charged the cell even when the indicator said it did, so measure at the wall port or swap to a 5V/1A dedicated adapter.
