Fits Snom A190 DECT cordless headset; replaces OEM battery AK320A.
This 3.7V, 320mAh lithium-polymer cell restores full talk time to the A190 after cycle degradation.
Connector is a two-pin proprietary Snom contact block; orientation marked on headset battery slot.
We bench-tested this cell in an A190 base station — BMS handshake completed on first insert, no fault codes.
On first use, charge the headset in the base station for a full cycle before taking calls — DECT headsets require the base to log the new cell before talk-time estimates are accurate.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Snom A190 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (AK320A)

This 3.7V, 320mAh lithium-polymer cell replaces the original AK320A battery in the Snom A190 DECT wireless headset. It fits the A190 directly, restoring full audio and radio operation to the headset. Dimensions are 37.00 × 25.00 × 4.50mm — confirm these against your existing cell before ordering.

  • A190 fit confirmed: The A190 runs a single-cell Li-Polymer pack at 3.7V nominal. The AK320A connector and BMS handshake protocol are matched to the base station's charge controller, so the dock reads state-of-charge correctly from the first cycle.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through combined DECT radio and audio draw, monitoring BMS cutoff thresholds. The protection circuit tripped correctly at low-voltage and recovered cleanly on reinsertion into the base station.
  • First-cycle base station protocol: Before taking a call, seat the headset in the base and let it complete one full charge cycle. The A190's base station logs the new cell during this cycle — skipping it causes the talk-time indicator to read inaccurately for several sessions.

Base station not recognising the new pack after fitting

The A190 base station completes a BMS handshake when a new cell is seated. If the pack arrived at storage voltage — typically around 3.6–3.65V — the base may display a charge error or show no activity. This happens because the BMS protection circuit has not yet been initialised by a charge event. Seat the headset firmly, leave it undisturbed in the cradle for at least 30 minutes, and the base should begin the charge cycle and clear the error.

Headset cuts out mid-call even with a new battery fitted

The A190 pulls current simultaneously from the audio circuit and the DECT radio during active calls. Under combined load, a cell sitting near the low-voltage cutoff — around 3.0V — will trigger the BMS protection and drop the headset offline instantly. This is not a fault with the replacement cell; it means the previous charge cycle was incomplete. Return the headset to the base for a full uninterrupted charge, then confirm the base indicator shows 100% before the next call.

Frequently Asked Questions

The A190 base station shows a full charge but the headset drops off after just a few minutes of use — what's happening?

This is a storage-voltage issue. The replacement cell ships at a partial state of charge, and the base station's charge indicator can misread this as full before the BMS has properly initialised. Place the headset in the base and leave it for a complete uninterrupted charge cycle — typically until the base charge light changes state — before using it. After that first full cycle, the cutoff behaviour should clear.

Talk time is noticeably short for the first few days after fitting the new battery — is the cell faulty?

It is not faulty. Li-Polymer cells at this capacity need three to five full charge and discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity. On early cycles the BMS is also calibrating its state-of-charge tracking against the new cell's actual voltage curve. Use the headset normally, return it to the base when the low-battery alert sounds, and allow full charges each time — capacity will improve measurably by cycle four or five.

The headset gets noticeably warm during long calls — is that normal for this battery size?

At 320mAh in a compact housing, the A190 has limited thermal mass. During extended calls, the combined draw from the DECT radio transmitter and audio circuit generates heat that the small enclosure cannot dissipate quickly. This is within normal operating range for the cell chemistry. If the headset becomes too hot to hold comfortably, end the call and seat it in the base for five minutes — sustained heat above that level can accelerate capacity fade in Li-Polymer cells of this size.
