Fits Sony Bloggie Touch models with NP-SP70 and SP70, SP70A, SP70B part numbers.
3.7V at 800mAh delivers the full charge window this camcorder needs for extended HD recording sessions.
Connector slides straight into the camera battery slot with a single locking tab — no force required.
We bench-tested the cell on a Bloggie Touch body; the BMS accepted voltage curve on first insertion without requiring a conditioning cycle.
On first charge inside the camera body rather than an external charger, the fuel gauge will calibrate correctly for accurate remaining-shot display.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sony Bloggie Touch Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (NP-SP70)

This 3.7V, 800mAh lithium-ion cell replaces the original NP-SP70 battery in Sony Bloggie Touch camcorders. It fits the MHS-TS20, MHS-TS20/S, MHS-FS2/V, and over 20 additional Bloggie Touch variants. Capacity matches OEM spec at 800mAh (2.96Wh).

  • Bloggie Touch family compatibility: The MHS-TS20 line and related Bloggie Touch models share the same battery bay geometry, contact layout, and 3.7V single-cell BMS architecture — one cell covers the full range without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the MHS-TS20 body and confirmed the BMS handshake completed cleanly on first charge. Charge acceptance, over-discharge cutoff, and thermal protection all triggered at expected thresholds.
  • First-cycle BMS initialisation on Bloggie Touch: Run the first charge cycle inside the Bloggie Touch body using the OEM USB charger — not a third-party dock. Some Bloggie Touch units need an in-body charge cycle before the battery-remaining indicator maps correctly to a new cell's discharge curve.

Why the Bloggie Touch shows a dead battery indicator on a freshly installed replacement

The Bloggie Touch reads remaining charge by tracking voltage against a stored discharge curve from the original Sony cell. A new third-party cell often ships at a lower resting voltage than the threshold the camera expects on first boot. The body interprets this as a flat or missing cell and trips the low-battery indicator before any recording attempt. Insert the cell and charge fully in-body via USB first — after one complete charge cycle the voltage mapping resets and the indicator reads correctly.

Battery percentage jumping erratically on the Bloggie Touch LCD

This happens because the Bloggie Touch uses a voltage-step indicator rather than a coulomb counter. The discharge curve of a replacement cell may not match the voltage thresholds the firmware was calibrated against, causing the display to skip bars or jump between levels. It is a display calibration issue, not a fault with the cell itself. Run two full charge-discharge cycles in the camera body and the indicator will stabilise as the BMS learns the new cell's actual discharge curve.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Bloggie Touch says "no battery" right after I put the new cell in — is the battery dead?

The Bloggie Touch BMS performs a voltage check on insertion, and a new cell shipped in storage charge can sit below the camera's recognition threshold. The cell is not faulty. Insert it and connect the camera via USB to charge in-body — once voltage climbs above approximately 3.5V the camera will recognise the cell and boot normally.

The battery percentage on my Bloggie Touch jumps from 50% to empty mid-recording — what's happening?

The Bloggie Touch uses fixed voltage steps to display charge level, not a continuous fuel gauge. A replacement cell's discharge curve sits slightly differently to the OEM curve the firmware mapped those steps against, so the indicator skips levels abruptly. The cell still holds its rated 800mAh — the display is misreading, not the capacity failing. Run two full charge-to-discharge cycles in the camera body to let the BMS recalibrate its threshold mapping.

Shot count seems lower than expected when recording HD video — what's drawing the extra current?

The Bloggie Touch combines the image sensor, video encoder, LCD, and USB charging circuit on a single 3.7V rail during active recording. HD video encoding is the heaviest single load — sustained at maximum resolution it draws significantly more than the spec figures derived from standby or still-capture testing. Keep the LCD brightness at its lowest usable setting during recording sessions, which reduces draw on that shared rail and extends active record time between charges.
