Fits Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, Xperia Z5 Premium Dual—replaces OEM part LIS1605ERPC.
3.8V, 3400mAh lithium-polymer cell restores full capacity on this flagship smartphone.
Connector slides into the internal battery slot with flat orientation and locking tab engagement.
We bench-tested this cell in an E6853 unit—BMS initialized normally, voltage ramp was clean, no early cutoff.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle to let the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell curve before high-current charging.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sony Xperia Z5 Premium — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (LIS1605ERPC)

This 3.8V, 3400mAh (12.92Wh) Li-Polymer cell replaces the original LIS1605ERPC battery in the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium and Z5 Premium Dual. It fits models E6853 and E6883. Dimensions are 85.60 × 61.94 × 4.40mm — match these against your existing cell before installation.

  • E6853 and E6883 compatibility: Both the single and dual-SIM Z5 Premium variants use the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One cell fits both boards without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Z5 Premium platform. The BMS accepted the new cell without fault flags, and charge termination triggered correctly at 4.35V.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated coulomb counter.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Z5 Premium after a cell swap

The Z5 Premium's Snapdragon 810 and 4K display pull significant current bursts under combined load. A new cell with a slightly higher internal impedance than the aged original can cause a brief voltage sag during these bursts. When cell voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold — even momentarily — the phone shuts down despite the fuel gauge reporting charge remaining. This is not a faulty cell. Run two full discharge-charge cycles at standard rate and the BMS will establish a stable low-voltage floor for the new cell.

OS reporting wrong battery percentage after replacement

Android's fuel gauge IC on the Z5 Premium stores a learned discharge curve from the old cell in its coulomb counter. After swapping cells, that stored curve no longer matches the new cell's actual capacity profile, so percentage readings drift or jump. The fix is one complete uninterrupted discharge down to automatic shutdown, followed by a full charge to 100% without interruption. After that cycle, the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against the new cell and percentage readings stabilise.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Z5 Premium won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for months — is it dead?

A Li-Polymer cell stored uncharged can drop below 2.5V, which triggers a BMS lockout to prevent damage. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC port — and leave it for 30–45 minutes without attempting to power it on. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell until voltage recovers above the BMS re-enable threshold, typically around 3.0V, at which point the phone will boot normally.

Fast charging stopped working the first time I plugged in after fitting this battery — was the cell rejected?

The Z5 Premium's USB charging controller runs a handshake with the BMS before enabling high-current charge. On the first cycle with a new cell, the controller often defaults to standard 5V charging as a precaution until it completes that handshake. Unplug, wait 10 seconds, and reconnect using the original Sony charger. If fast charge still does not engage after a full standard-rate cycle, confirm the charger outputs at least 9V 1.67A — that is the minimum the phone requires to enter fast-charge mode.

The battery percentage keeps jumping around erratically — it reads 60%, then suddenly 45%, then back to 55% — what's happening?

This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating in real time against a cell it has no stored data for. The coulomb counter is estimating charge state by interpolating against the old cell's curve, so readings are unstable. Run the phone down to automatic shutdown from a full charge without plugging in mid-cycle, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. One complete cycle gives the fuel gauge IC enough data points to build an accurate discharge map, and the jumping stops.
