Fits Spare 1128 UHF Reader and 1153 model; replaces original 3.7V Li-ion battery pack.
3.7V 1800mAh capacity delivers full scan and wireless transmission power without mid-shift cutoff.
Connector slides into scanner battery slot with positive contact alignment; locking tab secures pack.
Bench test shows BMS accepts charge within two cycles on standard cradle dock.
Place scanner in cradle for full charge cycle before first pick-and-pack shift to prevent scan trigger inrush from tripping BMS cutoff on low cells.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Spare 1128 UHF Reader / 1153 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 3.7V 1800mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Spare 1128 UHF Reader and 1153 handheld scanner. Both devices use the same voltage rail and battery form factor, making this a direct swap. Dimensions are 64.94 × 36.80 × 11.80mm — confirm against your existing pack before ordering.

  • 1128 UHF Reader and 1153 compatibility: Both models share the same 3.7V single-cell architecture and battery compartment envelope. The connector pinout and BMS communication protocol match across the pair, so one pack covers either unit.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through simulated scan-burst and wireless polling loads. The BMS held voltage within spec across repeated trigger events and did not trip under combined radio and imager draw.
  • First-shift prep for pick-and-pack environments: After installing, seat the scanner in its cradle and run a full charge cycle before the shift starts. Scan trigger inrush is highest when the cell is near minimum — a fully charged pack prevents false BMS trips during the first wave of rapid scanning.

Cradle charging error on a freshly installed pack

A new pack sitting in a dock can trigger a charging error if the gold contact pads on the battery face have oxidation or handling residue. The dock reads contact resistance as a fault and stops the charge cycle before it begins. Wipe both the pack contacts and the dock pins with a dry lint-free cloth, then reseat firmly. If the error clears, run the first charge to full before pulling the scanner for use.

Scanner dropping wireless connection during rapid scan bursts

During a fast scan burst, the imager and wireless radio draw current simultaneously. If the cell voltage sags under combined load, the radio module can drop its link to the access point before the BMS trips the pack. This looks like a connectivity fault but is actually a voltage sag event. A fully charged cell at 4.1–4.2V handles the combined inrush without the sag — check that the pack reached full charge before starting a high-volume scanning session.

Frequently Asked Questions

My 1128 UHF Reader won't read barcodes after I swapped the battery — the trigger fires but nothing scans

The imager needs a minimum voltage to fire the laser or LED array at full intensity. If the replacement pack shipped in a low state of charge, the cell may be below the threshold the scanner needs for reliable reads. Seat the unit in its cradle and charge to full — 4.2V at the cell — before attempting a scan. Once fully charged, the imager output returns to normal and reads should resume immediately.

The scanner feels noticeably warm after a few hours on the warehouse floor — is that a battery issue?

In an enclosed handheld housing, sustained combined draw from the wireless radio and the scan trigger generates heat that has nowhere to go quickly. The pack itself contributes some warmth as it discharges under repeated bursts. This is within normal range for Li-ion under continuous load, but if the housing feels hot rather than warm, check that the battery contacts are seated cleanly — a high-resistance connection forces extra current through a small contact area and accelerates heating. Reseat the pack and wipe the contact pads if the warmth is abnormal.

The new battery doesn't last as long per shift as the old one did when it was new — what's happening?

Li-ion cells ship partially charged and need a full formation cycle before they reach rated capacity. A pack used straight out of the box without a full initial charge will underperform compared to a conditioned cell. Place the scanner in the cradle and charge uninterrupted to 100% — the charger LED going solid green or turning off indicates a full cycle. Run two or three full charge-discharge cycles across normal shift use and capacity will stabilise at the rated 1800mAh.
