This is an 18V 2500mAh Li-ion battery pack for the SUPRO XC03S57 and VCS66-X7 cordless stick vacuums. It slots into the same battery bay as the original and carries the OEM part number DC-Y01-25. Capacity is rated at 45Wh — identical to the factory specification.

  • XC03S57 and VCS66-X7 platform: Both models share the same 18V battery rail, connector housing, and BMS handshake protocol. A single cell replacement covers either unit without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through the XC03S57 motor controller under simulated floor and upholstery loads. The BMS held the 18V rail steady through the motor-start surge and did not trip under normal suction demand.
  • Dock charging habit on the XC03S57: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock between uses. Continuous trickle charge compresses cell capacity faster than intermittent charge cycles. Charge to full, then pull it off the dock.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

The XC03S57 motor draws harder when airflow is partially restricted — a dirty filter forces it to work against back-pressure, pulling more current than rated. The BMS reads that overcurrent as a low-cell condition and begins throttling motor speed to protect the pack. This happens well above the actual low-battery threshold, so the indicator still shows charge remaining. Clean or replace the filter first — if suction recovers fully, the battery is not the issue.

Motor cuts out mid-use then comes back after a short pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a flat battery. Sustained restricted suction — usually a blocked nozzle or filter at saturation — pushes current draw above the BMS trip threshold. The BMS shuts the output rail, the motor stops, and the pack resets once internal temperature drops. Check the nozzle, hose, and filter before swapping the battery. If the cut-outs stop after clearing the blockage, the replacement cell is functioning correctly at its rated 18V output.

Not likely. When the filter is partially blocked, the motor pulls more current than rated to compensate for back-pressure. Clean the filter and check the nozzle for blockages first. If suction returns to full strength, the battery is working correctly.

The vacuum runs fine for a bit, then the motor suddenly cuts out and restarts after I wait a minute — what's causing that?

That's a BMS overcurrent trip. A sustained blockage in the hose or at the floor head forces the motor to draw above the BMS's rated threshold, so the pack cuts the output rail to protect the cells. After the pack cools slightly, the BMS resets and the motor restarts. Clear the blockage completely, then confirm the pack is delivering a steady 18V at the terminals before writing off the battery.

I've had the new battery for a few months and the runtime is noticeably shorter than when it was new — what shortens Li-ion capacity this fast?

Leaving the vacuum on the charging dock continuously is the most common cause. The charger maintains a trickle current once the pack reaches full charge, and that sustained low-level charge compresses cell capacity over weeks. Charge the pack fully, then remove it from the dock and store the vacuum unplugged. For this 2500mAh / 45Wh pack, one full charge cycle per use session — rather than constant dock contact — preserves rated capacity significantly longer.
